LADY CHAPS FLIGHT DECK
• Thursday afternoon will present the Lubbock Christian University women an opportunity to capture their first victory of the season against University of Texas – Permian Basin. Kickoff against the Falcons is scheduled for 4 p.m. at LCU Soccer Field.
• The Lady Chaparrals will be looking to avenge a pair of 2-1 losses in their opening weekend of play.
• LCU has found an offensive presence in each of their first games with goals coming from various positions. Junior defender
Hailey Phipps notched a goal Saturday afternoon against No. 3 ranked UC – Colorado Springs. Freshman forward
Makenna Pate registered her first goal Monday afternoon against Colorado State – Pueblo.
STORY LINES
• For the first time since the 2011 campaign, the Lubbock Christian program stands 0-2 to begin the season.
• Thursday's match will stand as the Lady Chaps third of four non-conference contests for the year.
• Though she has just one goal to her name, Pate has not struggled to create opportunities for herself on the offensive end. So far, the freshman leads the LCU roster with 10 shots attempted in 140 minutes played. She is responsible for five of Lubbock Christian's eight shots on goal.
• Thursday will serve as the final head-to-head meeting against UTPB as just a South Central regional showdown. With the Heartland Conference in its final season of play, Lubbock Christian will join the Lone Star Conference in the 2019 season.

Hannah Wise has made her stay in between the sticks providing the Lady Chaps with six saves throughout her first two games.
SCOUTING UTPB
• Similar to the Lady Chaps, the Falcons have opened up their 2018 season with an 0-2-0 record.
• UTPB has also recorded two goals, both of which came in a 3-2 loss to Texas A&M International. Their season opener resulted in a 3-0 shutout loss to Colorado Mesa University.
• Opponents facing Texas – Permian Basin have registered a .733 shooting percentage.
• The Falcons are riding an 11-game losing streak that dates back to the 2017 season.
• UTPB has not won a non-conference contest since the 2014 season when they were Heartland Conference members.
