Highlights
Lubbock Christian University fell at home in straight sets for the first time this season, as West Texas A&M used an 18-kill performance from Torrey Miller to hand LCU A third consecutive loss. Miller also added 19 digs to complete a double-double outing. The divisional loss and Rivalry on the Range series loss places LCU below .500 on the season for the first time since they were 1-2 three games into the season. LCU fell despite Brady Marshall producing her 11th double-double of the season with 34 assists and 13 digs. Ashley Vanfleet was LCU's lone player in double figures in kills, as she produced 13 in the game. Maddie DeGuire led LCU with a match-high 23 digs.

How It Happened

Set One:
LCU was tripped up early, as WTAMU opened the match and the opening set on a 7-3 run. Ashley Vanfleet had five kills in the opening set for the Lady Chaps and she produced a kill to cut LCU's deficit to 17-15, but the Lady Chaps would not be able to get any closer in a 25-20 set loss to open the match. Miller and Lindsey Smith each had four kills in the set for WTAMU.

Set Two:
The Lady Chaps erased a 7-5 deficit in the second set with a 7-1 run highlighted by a trio of kills from Hannah Thomas. LCU led 16-13 and then over a 10-point stretch for the combined two teams, eight of the points stemmed from errors. When the dust settled, a 10-2 WTAMU run developed and the Lady Buffs led 23-18. LCU was limited to a 4-1 run, dropping the set 25-22. Miller led all players with six kills on the set. Thomas finished with four in the set for LCU.

Set Three:
The two teams combined for 38 kills in the third set (20 by WTAMU). The Lady Buffs notched the first six points in the set and also led 9-2. LCU responded with Vanfleet and Hailey Cournoyer combining for four kills to ignite a 10-2 LCU run for a 12-11 LCU lead. Later in the set, the two teams traded off 4-0 runs before a 4-1 WTAMU run provided the Lady Buffs a 24-22 run. Thomas then had a pair of kills and assisted on a block with Morgan Schwarz to place LCU with a set-point at 26-25. There would be a combined six set-point-serves before Julia Borschel's kill sealed the set 29-27 for WTAMU to clinch the match. There were eight lead changes in the set and the set was tied on 14 occurrences.

6 – WTAMU was whistled for six ball handling errors. LCU opponents have been called for 55 ball handling errors this season (20 against LCU).
30 – The win was WTAMU's 30th in the all-time series and the Lady Buffs are now 30-12-1 all-time against LCU. It was just their third straight-set win in Lubbock in the series.
23 – Maddie DeGuire posted 23 digs for LCU, marking the second time this season she has surpassed 20 digs in a three-set match this season.
28 - Setter Bradi Marshall notched her 28th career double-double and she has 11 double-doubles this season and they have come over a 15-match stretch.
47 – Ashley Vanfleet had 47 attack attempts, which ties for the fifth-most in a three-set match in the past 15 years, but ranks as the second-most this season (Hannah Thomas had 48 on Sept.12 vs. Southwestern Oklahoma State).
162 – LCU had 162 total attack attempts, marking the second-highest total for a three-set match over the past 15 seasons. The highest over the span in a three-set match was 163 against St. Edward's on Oct. 6, 2018.
