LCU and WTAMU Series Snapshot
  • WTAMU leads the all-time series over LCU, 11-9.
  • LCU is 7-4 all-time against WTAMU at PlainsCapital Park.
  • LCU defeated the Lady Buffs 8-7 in the previous meeting (Feb. 10 at PlainsCapital Park) in walk-off fashion.
  • LCU and WTAMU were scheduled for four meetings this season, with three in Lubbock and two in the LCU Invitational, but with Mother nature playing a factor, the teams will meet three times, with Tuesday's meeting marking the second meeting and final at PlainsCapital Park. Weather has played a cancellation or postponement role in five of the prior seven scheduled contests between the two teams.

Opening Thoughts
  • LCU has posted 128 runs this season, averaging 10.7 runs a game, which leads all of NCAA Division II. Lubbock Christian posted at least 10 runs in their opening four games of the season (a program first) and have tacked 10 or more runs in seven of their 12 contests. They have posted at least 20 runs twice this season and posted 23 runs on Sunday (vs. Newman) with a team record 18-run third inning. LCU has two of the top-five highest scoring games (single team) this season in NCAA Div. II.
  • The Lady Chaps have 10 wins in the circle, with four claimed in relief. Four different pitchers have received a win, with three claiming multiple wins: Jordan Wehr (3-1), Taylor Franco (4-1) and Amber Carlton (2-0).
  • Megan Darling leads the team at the plate, leading the conference hitting .591, which ranks 20th nationally. Alivia Villarreal is not far behind, batting .472, which is fourth in the conference.  Villarreal ranks third in the Heartland Conference in on-base percentage (.568), fourth in RBI per game (1.25) and sixth in RBI (14). Darling ranks 15th nationally in on-base percentage (.667, leads conference), second in the conference in slugging (.773) and is ninth in doubles (4) and runs per game (1.1).
  • Lindzi Clemmer has 18 hits this season (second on the team) and nine have been for extra bases (she is tied for fifth the conference with five doubles). Clemmer leads the conference in triples (3), ranking ninth nationally, and is tied for fourth in the conference in runs scored (18). She is 14th nationally in runs per game (1.25), ranking second in the conference behind teammate Savannah Wysocki, who is ninth nationally with a conference-leading 1.75 runs per game.
  • The statistic of "game-winning RBI" is not an official statistic, but K'leigh Arredondo has three game-winning runs-batted-in. Savannah Wysocki, Morgan Dufour and Alivia Villarreal each have two game-winning RBI of LCU's 10 victories (Alexis Reed has one).
  • LCU did not have a four-hit performance last season. They have had three in 12 games this season, as K'leigh Arredondo produced four hits against Southern Nazarene, Savannah Wysocki had a four-hit game against Chadron State and Lindzi Clemmer went 4-for-5 against West Texas A&M.
  • Wysocki has two triples on the season (tied for second in the conference and 26th nationally) and Annika Schwartzenberg has five doubles to rank tied for fiftth in the conference. Schwartzenberg leads the conference in doubles per game (0.50). Wysocki also ranks tenth in RBI (13) and eighth in RBI per game (1.1).
  • Don't tell anyone, but K'leigh Arredondo has 35 at-bats this season and has not struck out. She is one of 165 batters in NCAA Div. II, with qualified at-bats, to not have a strikeout at the plate.  Arredondo leads the Lady Chaps in RBI (16), which ranks fifth in the conference and 35th nationally. Her rate of 1.3 RBI per game is third in the conference and 51st nationally.
  • Taylor Franco pitched the program's 17th no-hitter with a five-inning complete-game victory over University of the Southwest on Feb. 15. It was part of a span of 12.1 innings of no-hit pitching, which ended Sunday. Franco ranks tied for 11th nationally with two shutouts, and is sixth in the conference in strikeouts (32) and third in strikeouts per seven innings (7.1).

How is the Team Doing?
  • LCU is 10-2 this season and have won six of their last seven games.
