AMARILLO, Texas (September 10, 2019) - The Lubbock Christian men's golf team had its best round of the Ryan Palmer Foundation Invite, finishing 11 strokes behind Cameron overall.
The Chaps posted a 294 in round three on Tuesday, six strokes better than their round one score of 300 and 13 strokes better than their score in the second round. The third-round number was also better than what six other teams shot on the final day of the tournament.
Overall, LCU ended up with a 901 over three days, finishing in 17
th place.
Jeff Maciejewski led the team in their final-round push, carding a one-under score of 70 on the day. For the three rounds combined, Maciejewski shot 219, finishing in a tie for 41
st.
Zach Burkholder had the second best final round of any Chap, finishing just two over at 73. Overall, however, Burkholder finished with a score of 229, which was four strokes behind teammate
Maxwell Mitchell, who shot a 75 on the final day and carded an overall score of 225.
Jake Bowen finished in a tie for 80
th at the tournament, shooting a 76 for the second straight round to finish with a 331 overall.
John-Payton Freeman stayed consistent between the second and third rounds as well, shooting a 79 in both and carding a three-round score of 234.

Chase Mykleby also played at the tournament as an individual, and had the second-best overall score of all the Chaps. He carded a 73 in the final round of the tournament for a three-round score of 223.
Oklahoma Christian moved up one spot on the final day to win the tournament with a 12 under score of 840.
