The Lubbock Christian University Lady Chaparrals continue a busy week of Lone Star Conference and divisional play Friday hosting Western New Mexico at 6 p.m. for their LSC home opener inside Rip Griffin Center. LCU (1-2 in conference and division play) looks to end a two-match losing streak after a 3-0 loss Wednesday at Angelo State, and they face a Western New Mexico squad (0-1 in conference and in the division) seeking their first conference and division win of the season. LCU's week will continue Saturday hosting Texas-Permian Basin.

WESTERN NEW MEXICO | Friday, Sept. 27 | 6 p.m.
-LCU and Western New Mexico are meeting for the 11th time all-time, but it marks the first meeting as conference foes. WNMU leads the all-time series with a 7-3 mark. LCU has won the prior two meetings, with the last meeting resulting in a 3-0 LCU win over the Mustangs in Canyon, Texas to open the 2009 season (Aug. 28, 2009). The series goes back to 1986, but the 2009 meeting was the first meeting since 1996 season.
- WNMU is preseason picked to finish 15th in the Lone Star Conference. They went 10-19 overall last season, finishing ninth in the LSC with a 6-14 conference mark.
- The Mustangs are off to a 2-7 start to the 2019 season and they are looking to put a stop to a five-match losing streak and also their first road win of the season (0-2 on the road).
- Serving aces is one of WNMU's best statistics, ranking 12th in the LSC with 1.3 aces per set. Eleven different Mustangs have at least an ace this season.
- Erin Moss is the go-to for the Mustangs, ranking third in the LSC in attacks per set (9.6). She connects on an average of 3.2 kills per set, which is seventh in the conference. She is 10th in the LSC in points per set (3.6).

LADY CHAP NOTES
- The Lady Chaps head into the contest with a 6-5 record, looking to improve on a 3-1 home record. LCU went 1-2 on their three-game conference-opening road trip, with the lone win occurring last Friday at Eastern New Mexico.
-The Lady Chaps rank second in the LSC in attacks per set (38.2), ranking 31st nationally. Their total attacks mark of 1,643 attack attempts ranks second in the conference (44th nationally). Hannah Thomas has received much of the effort, totaling 434 attacks (leads the conference) and averaging 10.1 attacks per set (ranks second in the conference). She ranks seventh in the LSC in kills (130), ranking 12th with 3.0 kills per set.
- Lubbock Christian has served up 61 aces in their 11 matches this season (fifth in the LSC). Maddie DeGuire leads the team in aces with 20, which ranks third in the conference and 34th nationally. She ranks third in the conference with a pace of 0.47 per set. Bradi Marshall ranks tied for ninth in the conference with 15 aces.
- Marshall also leads the LSC in assists per set with a rate of 9.9, ranking 50th nationally. She leads the LSC in total assists with 425 (31st nationally). Over the weekend, she had 42 assists in the win over ENMU and followed with 47 assists Saturday at West Texas A&M. She completed her fifth and sixth double-doubles of the season, adding 15 digs at ENMU and 11 digs at WTAMU, averaging 2.9 digs per set. She has double-doubles in all three conference matches played this season.
- LCU's right-side hitter Avery Moore has been solid for the Lady Chaps since conference play began. She leads LCU with 36 kills in conference contests, with a pace of 3.0 per set. The right-side hitter has a .297 attack percentage in those contests. Moore is fifth in the LSC in attacks with 319 and she ranks 11th in kills (116).
- Maddie DeGuire ranks fourth in the conference in total digs (194) and is fifth in digs per set (4.5). She led the team with 42 digs, at a rate of 21 per match and 4.7 per set over the weekend.
-Morgan Schwarz has shown a mix of offense and defense in conference play, averaging 1.75 kills per set on a .296 attack percentage and 0.8 blocks per set (10.0 blocks in conference play). She is third in the LSC with 38 blocks overall this season.
