LADY CHAP HEADERS
  • Although they suffered their first loss of the season on Wednesday, Lubbock Christian is still tied for first in the Lone Star Conference with 10 total points
  • The Lady Chaps have matched up with the Lions twice in program history, but both meetings were in Commerce, making this TAMUC's first appearance in Lubbock
  • Texas A&M-Commerce averages 2.89 goals per game, which is the second-most in the league, but they have been shut out twice (vs. MSU-Denver and vs. Fort Lewis)
  • LCU goalkeeper Hannah Wise has notched three shutouts this season, posting a save percentage of .844 and a goals against average of .883 in more than 500 minutes of action
  • The Lady Chaps have been assessed just four yellow cards this year, which is tied for the third-fewest in the LSC. The Lions have been shown eight, which is tied for the second-most

HOME AGAIN, HOME AGAIN
After a pair of matches on the road against nationally-ranked opponents, Lubbock Christian returns home to take on Texas A&M-Commerce at the LCU Soccer & Track Complex. Completed in 2020, the complex features an AstroTurf playing surface, a Musco lighting system to allow for night games and stadium seating for 500 fans. LCU is 3-0-1 at the friendly confines this season and has allowed just one goal across the four games. Offensively, the Lady Chaps are averaging 2.25 goals and 19.8 shots per game on their home turf. The program is 55-23-12 all-time in home contests and has never had a losing record at home under head coach Alex Denning.

SHOOTING STARS
Lubbock Christian enters the weekend tied for fifth in the conference in shots per game with an average of 15.89. They are tied with St. Mary's with 143 total shots through nine games. Of those, 40.6 percent have been on goal, for an average of 6.44 per game. Allison Scott leads the team and ranks ninth in the conference with 25 total shots, 12 of which have been on goal. Makenna Pate is right behind her with 23 shots and 10 on goal while another four players have attempted at least 15 shots.

THOUGHTS ON SCOTT
When senior midfielder Allison Scott takes the field on Saturday, she will set a new Lubbock Christian program record by playing in her 76th career game. She is currently tied with former teammate Haley Knesek, who played at LCU from 2016-19. Scott has played in every single Lubbock Christian game since her freshman season in 2017. She recently surpassed the 70-point mark for her career, which is the third-most in program history. She has 27 career goals and 18 assists. Four of those goals and three of those assists have come this season, and she is leading the team in both categories.

CLEAN SWEEP
On Monday, the Lone Star Conference announced its weekly award-winners for games played Sept. 27-Oct. 3, and it was all LCU. The Lady Chaps became the first team to sweep the awards this season, with Scott claiming Offensive Player of the Week, Shadiana Haney winning Defensive Player of the Week and Hannah Wise earning Goalkeeper of the Week. It was the first time this season an LCU player has claimed any of the awards.

BACK LINE BALLERS
Even after allowing four goals on Wednesday against West Texas A&M, Lubbock Christian's goals against average for the season of 0.89 is tied for the fourth-best mark in the LSC. Lady Chap opponents are averaging 12.0 shots per game with only 47.2 percent of those on goal, and LCU has already notched four shutouts on the year, three of which have come on their home field. LCU has applied this defensive pressure all while committing just 6.56 fouls per game, which is the third-fewest in the league.

GAME-WINNERS
Eight different Lubbock Christian players have scored game-winning goals in their collegiate careers. Scott leads the way with 11, which is also the second-most in program history. She scored one of those this season, but the season-leader is Makenna Pate with two. Celia Duarte has five for the second-most on the team, Arely Jimenez has scored three, Maddie Hoel has two and three other players have one apiece.

SCOUTING THE LIONS
  • Texas A&M-Commerce has a good offense, but has a .500 record because they allow an average of 2.20 goals per game, which is the second-most in the LSC
  • Jen Peters handles most of the goalkeeping and has a .700 save percentage, but Lauren Banning has also played 245 minutes across five games in goal, and with a lower goals against average than Peters
  • Karalie Morrison leads the offense with eight goals and three assists, giving her 19 points, which is second in the league
  • Neil Piper has been leading the Lion women's soccer program since 1998, posting an all-time record of 261-147-39 in that time, while claiming six LSC titles
  • Texas A&M-Commerce plays physically, leading the Lone Star Conference with an average of 11.11 fouls per game. They have committed a season-high 15 fouls in two different games

A WIN ON SATURDAY WOULD:
  • Be the 106th in Lubbock Christian program history (105-75-20)
  • Be the 92nd under head coach Alex Denning (91-58-16)
  • Be the 115th of Denning's career as a women's soccer coach (114-91-19)
  • Be the Lady Chap's second win over Texas A&M-Commerce since the series began in 2015 (1-1-0)
