No.1 Lubbock Christian University and Western New Mexico complete their two-game non-conference series inside Rip Griffin Center Friday with a 5:30 p.m. tip, as LCU aims to extend their home win streak 86 games, which would place them as the second team ever in NCAA Division II women's basketball history to have an 86-game home win streak.
FIVE THINGS TO FOCUS ON
1 > LCU (10-0) aims to go 8-0 inside Rip Griffin Center on the season, where they are averaging a 32.5 scoring margin in their seven home games played. LCU is shooting 49.5% from the field and 43.5% from long range on their home court. Defensively, LCU is holding the opposition to a 32.7% shooting mark and 46.4 points per game. They have a 37-8 advantage in blocks at home.
Ashton Duncan leads LCU in scoring at home, averaging 14.3 points per game. She is 28-of-45 at home (62.2%) from three-point range.
Allie Schulte averages 12.6 points per game at home. She is 7-of-15 from long distance at home.

Juliana Robertson (9.0 points, 6.0 rebounds and 3.4 assists per game) has each had balanced play at home.
2 > The Lady Chaps enter Friday's play with their active home win streak sitting at 85 games, which ranks tied for second all-time in NCAA Division II women's basketball (it actively leads all of NCAA). The record is 87 consecutive home victories by Nebraska-Kearney, who completed the task from Jan. 31, 1995 - Nov. 24, 2001. LCU's last home loss came on Jan. 1, 2015 against Oklahoma City University. LCU, who also has a 7-0 mark in NCAA postseason play in Lubbock in the mix, has also won 72 consecutive home conference games, with their last conference home loss occurring Jan. 10, 2013 (against Oklahoma City). They completed a 49-0 all-time mark in Heartland Conference home games (they are 17-0 in LSC home games).
3 > WNMU is seeking to reverse their shooting woes after Thursday's 80-23 loss to LCU. The Mustangs were shooting 11.7% in the game before making their final three field goal attempts over the final 2:07 of the game to finish 9-of-54 (16.7%) from the field. It was the worst shooting performance by an LCU opponent since Texas A&M International shot 12.5% in Lubbock on Feb. 9, 2019. WNMU's total of 23 points was the lowest offensive output by an LCU opponent since TAMIU was held to 19 points in the same 2019 referenced contest.
4 > LCU was 86.4% (19-of-22) from the free-throw line Friday, marking the third consecutive game in which LCU shot at least 83.3% from the free-throw line. They have not missed more than three free-throw attempts in any of their 10 games this season (averaging 13.6 attempts per game and shooting 83.8% as a team this season).

Lara Mason provided a career high in points (8) and steals (1),
Madelyn Turner pulled down a career matching high six rebounds and
Brylee Winfrey posted a career-high four points.
THE SERIES AGAINST WNMU
The Mustangs and Lady Chaps are set to meet for the 22nd time in an all-time series that dates back to 1980. WNMU has not defeated the Lady Chaps since 1994, which has led to LCU taking an 11-10 series advantage. LCU has won the prior seven meetings, with the latest resulting in an 80-23 LCU win Friday inside Rip Griffin Center. LCU is 6-2 in Lubbock against WNMU (five straight wins). Last season's home-and-home conference schedule marked the first time the two teams had a home-and-home set scheduled in a single season since 1994, when each were members of the NAIA.
