LOOKING AT TEXAS WOMAN'S
- TWU holds a 5-4 all-time series advantage. No team in the series has won consecutive meetings since TWU won in 1984 and 1988. LCU won 3-1 last season in Denton, Texas (Oct. 16, 2021) in the prior meeting between the programs. TWU has a 2-1 all-time record in Lubbock, winning 3-0 in their previous visit to Lubbock (Nov. 19, 2019), which was part of the LSC Championships (tournament). The first four meetings were neutral site meetings and played between 1979 and 1988.

- TWU was preseason picked to finish 12th in the Lone Star Conference. They went 10-18 overall last season, finishing 14th in conference with a 5-12 conference record. They are 11-6 this season and in 12th place of the LSC with a 2-3 record in conference play this season. The Pioneers are 1-2 on the road this season, defeating Eastern New Mexico 3-2 (Oct. 28) in their previous road match.

- The Pioneers rank fifth in the LSC in blocks per set, averaging 2.17 per set. The Pioneers do it with balance, as they do not have an individual ranking in the top-20 in the conference in blocks. Adriana Puni and Mikaela Garvin each had 7.0 blocks against ENMU, as TWU posted 11 team blocks in their five-set win.

- Tori Woods ranks second in the LSC with 27 aces this season, pacing with .42 per set (fifth in the LSC). Woods has at least one ace in five consecutive matches.

-Yanely Pabon leads TWU and is fourth in the LSC with 304 digs, which ranks 32nd nationally. She averages 4.83 per set, which also ranks fourth in the LSC. She had a season-high 41 posted on Sept. 3 against Ouachita Baptist.

LOOKING AT ANGELO STATE
- LCU and Angelo State are meeting for the 33rd time all-time. ASU won the previous regular season meeting (non-conference) this season (3-1 on Sept. 10) to place the all-time series record to 23-9 against LCU. ASU, who had a nine-match win streak from 1980, has won the prior six meetings. Seventeen (17) meetings have been played in San Angelo, where LCU is 5-12 (LCU has won five of the last 10 in San Angelo).

- ASU, who went 24-5 last season (going 16-1 in LSC play), had their season end in the NCAA Division II South Central Regionals. This season, the Belles enter the contest 9-9 on the season and have a 5-1. They are preseason picked second in the LSC this season.

- The Belles posted a season-high 16 blocks against LCU in the previous meeting this season (UTEP transfer Marina Sanchez with 13) and they rank fifth in the LSC (26th nationally) with 144 team blocks. They post 2.15 per set, which is sixth in the LSC. Sanchez ranks third in the LSC (11th nationally) with1.27 per set.

- Hannah Kinnison, a University of San Francisco transfer, leads the Belles with 143 kills on the season. ASU received much of their production in the prior meeting from Sam Houston State transfer Sam Rodgers (15) and Kaila Garnett, who combined for 28 kills.

- Six of ASU's nine wins this season have come at home, where the Belles are 6-3 on the season. They are riding a three-match home win streak, which began with their 3-1 win over LCU.

LOOKING AT UTPB
- The Lady Chaps and Falcons first squared off in 1995 and have met 49 times since, with LCU owning a 40-9 series advantage over the Falcons.  LCU had won 15 consecutive matches prior to 2019, but UTPB has won five of the last seven meetings. LCU is 19-4 all-time in Odessa after a 3-1 win last season (Oct. 30, 2021). This meeting will mark their eighth LSC meeting (UTPB is 5-2 in the series with both teams being LSC members). The two programs were former Heartland Conference foes and LCU was 6-0 all-time in Heartland action against the Falcons.

- UTPB went 17-11 last season, going 10-7 in LSC play. They qualified for the LSC Championships, where they defeated St. Mary's and upset host Angelo State. They are preseason picked sixth this season in the LSC.

- UT Permian Basin is 8-8 this season and are 3-2 in LSC play. They have thrived at home with a 5-1home record and host Eastern New Mexico Friday before hosting LCU Saturday.

- UTPB sits second in the LSC in aces (119) and aces per set (1.86). Daylee Doggett is second in the conference with 27 aces, with an average of .44 per set (third in the LSC). Doggett enters the week 49 digs shy of 1,000 in her career.

- Aquincia Strambler ranks 17th in NCAA Division II for active career kills, entering the week with 1,177 in her UTPB career.

LADY CHAP NOTES
- LCU is 7-11 on the season (3-4 in conference and in 11th place in the standings) and coming off a 3-0 loss at home against St. Mary's Saturday. They are 6-3 in home matches this season. Sage Chain leads LCU in kills at home with 83 on the season. Chain is averaging 2.52 kills per set at home (just behind Kiana Fallaha, who has 2.53), and also leads LCU in blocks at home with 40 (pace of 1.21 per set). Additional leaders at home include Kendall Mahaney averaging 4.44 digs per set and Kayton Genenbacher averaging 11.0 assists and .35 aces per set.

- Lubbock Christian, 0-8 when losing the opening set of matches this season, is 6-0 when they win the third set and 1-11 when they lose the set (Friday's win over St. Edward's marked LCU's first win this season when losing the third set). Sticking to record trends, LCU is 7-0 when either leading in kills or leading in attack percentage and 0-11 when trailing each of the categories. Bizarrely, LCU is 1-5 when leading in blocks in a match, collecting their first win Wednesday (when producing more blocks than their opponent).

- Lily Bickley heads into Wednesday's match as the Lady Chaps team leader in kills (148), with Sage Chain second with 144 kills. Bickley leads LCU in kills per set (2.55) and Chain is LCU's leader in points per set (3.04). In seven conference matches, Bickley is hitting .333 and has an attack percentage over .500 in three of the last five matches. She has an attack percentage of .283 on the season, ranking 12th in the LSC.

- Setter Kayton Genenbacher has five double-doubles on the season (leads LCU). Genenbacher averages 9.95 assists per set (third in the LSC and 47th nationally), .26 aces per set and 2.26 digs per set. The sophomore is second in the LSC in total assists (657), which is 15th nationally.

- Sophomore libero Kendall Mahaney has seven matches of at least 20 digs this season. Mahaney leads the team with 298 digs (sixth in the LSC and 40th nationally) and is at a pace of 4.52 per set (seventh in the LSC and 72nd nationally).

- LCU points leader Sage Chain also leads LCU ranking ninth in the LSC with a pace of 1.05 blocks per set (68 total on the season, ranking fifth in the LSC). She has posted at least seven blocks in a match four times this season, with a high of 8.0 on Sept. 3 vs. UCCS.

-LCU had five solo blocks on Sept. 23 against DBU. They have posted at least five solo blocks in a match three times this season, which is the most in a single season since 2019. The Lady Chaps rank seventh in LSC matches with 2.15 blocks per set. Kalli Dalland ranks seventh in the LSC in blocks per set in conference matches (1.1).

- Lily Bickley (59), Sage Chain (55), and Aaliyah Gray (52) all have at least 50 kills in LSC contests. Bickley leads LCU with 2.27 kills per set. Chain leads the Lady Chaps with a pace of 2.80 points per set in LSC contests. LCU is hitting .190 in conference matches, but holding the opposition to a .184 attack percentage. LCU is led in blocks in conference play by Kalli Dalland (23), and Hailey Cournoyer leads in blocks per set averaging 1.3 per sets in LSC matches (Cournoyer and Dalland, 1.05, provide LCU two players averaging at least 1.0 blocks per set in conference matches).
