LUBBOCK CHRISTIAN (15-5, 13-5, LSC) at
TEXAS A&M INTERNATIONAL (10-14, 10-12 LSC)
Sunday, March 13 – 1 p.m.
Hays Field – Lubbock, Texas
LEADING OFF
After an offensive onslaught in Saturday's doubleheader to start the series, Lubbock Christian University will try and clinch a series win and keep a sweep in play as they Take on Texas A&M International at 1 p.m. at Hays Field. Conditions should be ripe for more run-scoring, with warm weather and a wind upwards of 15 miles per hour blowing out of the ballpark predicted for throughout the game.
STARTING PITCHING MATCHUP
LCU – The Chaps will use right-hander
Ty Stephenson in game three. The Ingram. Texas native has an ERA of 8.31 this season in 13.0 innings pitched. All four of his appearances so far have come as a starter, but he has not gone more than 4.0 innings on the mound yet this year. The righty has allowed 12 runs on 22 hits while striking out 11. Opposing batters are hitting a robust .361 against the righty. In his last outing, he gave up three earned runs on six hits and a pair of walks in 3.1 innings of work at Angelo State. Stephenson was out with an injury for much of the 2021 season.
TAMIU – Abanny Garcia seems like the probable candidate to go to the mound for the Dustdevils as they try and get back into the series. A righty, Garcia has started five times this season and has an ERA of 6.08 in 23.2 innings of work. Opponents are hitting .312 against him, and he has allowed 17 runs on 29 hits while striking out 24 batters. Last weekend against St. Mary's, Garcia lasted only three innings while the Rattlers touched him up for six earned runs on seen hits and four walks.
