TYLER, Texas (September 24, 2022) – The Lubbock Christian University Lady Chaparrals go for their first Lone Star Conference road win Saturday, facing UT Tyler at 1 p.m. inside Patriot Center.

LOOKING AT UTT
- The Lady Chaps and UT Tyler opened their all-time series during the 2019 season in Tyler, Texas, where the Patriots topped LCU 3-1 on Oct. 4, 2019. Their previous meeting (Sept. 8) marked their first ever neutral site contest and UTT garnered a 3-1 win to take 3-0 all-time series lead (all meetings have resulted in 3-1 scores).

- UTT was preseason picked third in the Lone Star Conference, with seven first-place votes received. They went 20-4 last season, with a 15-3 record in conference play. They qualified for the NCAA Division II South Central Regional last season. This season, they are 9-5 overall and are one of the four programs tied for fifth in the LSC standings with a 2-1 conference start.

- The Patriots rank fourth in the LSC in assists per set (they were second prior to Friday's match) with 12.2 per set (36^th nationally). Adeline Ortman, who ranks 10th in the LSC in aces per set (0.37), ranks fifth in the LSC in assists per set (8.59).

- Mikayla Ware is the go-to target for the Patriots this season. Ware ranks second nationally with a conference-leading 12.7 attacks per set. She is seventh nationally with a conference-best 4.63 kills per set and 222 kills (10^th nationally), and is ninth nationally (leads the LSC) in points per set (5.1).

- After playing 13 matches on the road, UT Tyler played their first home match of the season Friday defeating Eastern New Mexico 3-0. They went 8-0 at home last season and have won 15 consecutive conference home matches (9 consecutive overall).
 
LADY CHAP NOTES
- LCU is 5-9 on the season (1-2 in conference and tied for 11th) and coming off a 3-1 loss Friday at DBU (there were seven matches Friday involving LSC programs and LCU's match was the only match not ending with a 3-0 result). They are 0-3 in road matched this season. Sage Chain leads LCU in kills on the road with 20 on the season. Payton Murray is averaging 2.5 kills per set on the road. Kalli Dalland has six blocks and has a pace of .67 per set in LCU's three road matches.
 
- Lubbock Christian, 0-6 when losing the opening set of matches this season, is 5-0 when they win the third set and 0-9 when they lose the set. Sticking to record trends, LCU is 5-0 when either leading in kills or leading in attack percentage and 0-9 when trailing each of the categories. Bizarrely, LCU is 0-5 when leading in blocks in a match.

- Sage Chain heads into Friday's match as the Lady Chaps team leader in kills (119), with Lily Bickley leads LCU in kills per set (2.55). Chain is their leader in points per set (3.18).   

- Setter Kayton Genenbacher has three double-doubles on the season (leads LCU). This season she averages 9.9 assists per set (third in the LSC and 30^th nationally), .31 aces per set and 2.08 digs per set. The sophomore is fourth in the LSC in total assists (515), which is 20^th nationally.
 
- Sophomore libero Kendall Mahaney has six matches of at least 20 digs this season. Mahaney leads the team with 237 digs (eighth in the LSC and 45^th nationally) and is at a pace of 4.6 per set (seventh in the LSC and 52^nd nationally).                                                     
 
- LCU points leader Sage Chain also leads LCU ranking ninth in the LSC with a pace of 1.09 blocks per set (56 total on the season, ranking fourth in the LSC). She has posted at least seven blocks in a match four times this season, with a high of 8.0 on Sept. 3 vs. UCCS.
 
-LCU had five solo blocks Friday against DBU. They have posted at least five solo blocks in a match three times this season, which is the most in a single season since 2019. The Lady Chaps rank fourth in LSC matches with 2.3 blocks per set. Kalli Dalland ranks second in the LSC in blocks per set in conference matches (1.3).
 
- Active career numbers against UT Tyler has Kiana Fallaha leading LCU with 3.0 points per set after an 11-kill performance against UT Tyler on September 8. She averaged 2.75 kills per set. Aaliyah Gray has 14 kills in two career meetings. Kendall Mahaney has four aces in two matches (0.5 per set) and averages 5.1 digs per set (has 41 total against UTT).  Sage Chain leads LCU with 10 blocks (1.11 per set) in three career matches against UTT. Chain and Mady McCully are the only Lady Chaps to have played in all three of the all-time meetings against UTT.
