LOOKING AT SEU
- The Lady Chaps and Hilltoppers are meeting for a 27
th time all-time, as LCU has a 16-10 all-time advantage in the series (dates back to the 1987 season). SEU has won four of the past six meetings, including a 3-2 win in the last meeting in Austin (Nov. 12, 2021), where the teams are an even 6-6 head-to-head. The previous overall meeting was in Lubbock (only match of the past four in Lubbock) and it resulted in a 3-2 LCU win (Sept. 30, 2022).
- SEU is preseason picked 12th in the Lone Star Conference preseason poll. They went 9-18 overall last season and was tied for 11th in the LSC with a mark of 6-10 in conference.
- The Hilltoppers are 6-10 this season and have opened up with a 2-2 record in conference play. SEU opened the season with a 1-7 record, but have since gone 5-3 and enter the week following a 3-0 win Saturday at Cameron. They are 1-1 at home this season.
- SEU leads the LSC and is fifth nationally with 39.7 attacks per set. Overall, they have 2,301 attacks, which is 14
th nationally and fourth the LSC. Kelli Fording is eighth in the LSC with 8.94 attacks per set. She ranks 13
th in the LSC in kills per set (2.79) and is ninth in points per set (3.36).
- The 'toppers have 1,049 digs on the season, which ranks fourth in the LSC and is 11
th nationally. Sarah Konovodoff ranks sixth nationally and second in the LSC with 319 digs, ranking 12
th nationally and second in the LSC with a per-set rate of 5.50.
LADY CHAP NOTES
- LCU was one of 13 unbeaten teams this season before falling 3-2 Sept.14 to UT Permian Basin. The season start was their best since opening 2010 with an 8-0 record. The loss also ended an eight-match win streak if you include their season-ending win last season (their longest under head coach
Keith Giboney and the longest streak since a 12-match win streak in 2018). The Lady Chaps went into conference play with an 8-2 record on the season and their pre-conference record was their best 10-match start to their season since opening the first 10 matches of the 2014 season with a 9-1 record. They are off to a 2-3 start in LSC play, and they aim for a third consecutive road win Friday. They enter the contest 10-5 overall following a come-from-behind 3-2 win Wednesday at Midwestern State in Wichita Falls, Texas.

Kayton Genenbacher has eight double-doubles this season (19 in career) and enters Friday ranking second in the LSC in assists (563, 31
st nationally), third in assists per set (9.54, 49
th nationally) and fifth in aces with 23. Her assists are fueling a Lady Chaps offense that ranks 59
th nationally (eighth in the LSC) in kills per set (12.9) and is hitting .201 on the season. Genenbacher surpassed 1,500 career assists on Sept. 23 (at Oklahoma Christian), and has 563 on the season on the season.

Kiana Fallaha ranks fifth in the LSC in kills per set (3.6) and fourth in kills (215). She is fifth in the LSC in points per set with 3.9. Fallaha is third in the LSC (23
rd nationally) with a pace of 11.1 attacks per set and has produced over 40 attacks in nine matches this season. Wednesday (at MSU), she notched her eighth double-double of the season (and of her career) and she has double-double performances in four of her last six matches.
- LCU ranks sixth in the LSC (50
th nationally) in digs per set (16.9), but it has been a balanced effort, as the Lady Chaps do not have any representation in the top-15 in conference leaders in digs.
Chloe Menard is LCU's leader with 3.64 digs per set, as she has 215 total digs on the season. Four Lady Chaps (Menard, Genenbacher,
Olivia Elofsson and Fallaha) have at least 2.7 digs per set.
- Lubbock Christian is 3-1 in true road matches this season, with their most recent road match resulting in a 3-2 LCU win at Midwestern State Wednesday. LCU has a 233-217 advantage in kills on the road, with
