LUBBOCK, Texas (April 17, 2023) – Four NCAA Division II provisional marks were met over the weekend, as Lubbock Christian University had their men's and women's outdoor track and field programs competing at a trio of events over the weekend.
Three of the four provisional marks were accomplished in Azusa, Calif. At the Bryan Clay Invitational, both
Anna Salisbury (54.42) and
Jozlyn Arana (55.79, personal best) of the LCU women's program reached provisional marks in the 400-meter run. On the men's side,
George Garcia obtained a provisional mark with a time of 47.19 in the 400-meters.
Madelyn Merrell was the only other LCU competitor on the women's side joining Arana and Salisbury at the invite, and she notched personal-best marks in the 800-meter run (2:14) and the 1500-meter run (4:34).

Bryce Spencer hit a provisional mark at the Beach Invitational in Long Beach, Calif. with a Hammer Throw of 61.76 meters. Spencer and
Kevin Washington were the only Chaparrals competing in the meet.
Most of the programs' competitors were taking part in the Ross Black Open in Hobbs, N.M. LCU had four medalists from the meet, with three claimed by the Lady Chaps.
Reanna Argullin finished second in the 400-meters, registering a personal best time of 57.30.
Jayda Rosales finished third in the Triple Jump with a PR of 10.53m. She also had a PR in the Long Jump with a fourth place finish (5.33m), which was right behind
Haley George, who had a 5.35m-jump to finish second. In the 100-meter run, Kamile Boyd had a personal best finish (12.35) and finished behind of
Joy Egwu, who finished fifth with a time of 12.15.
In the men's events in Hobbs,
Dustin Bryant had their best showing. Bryant finished second in the Long Jump with a PR-jump of 7.02m.
Takunda Rutunga also had a personal best in the invite, as he ran a 23.35 in the 200-meter race.
Saturday, LCU has participants competing in the Buffalo Invitational, which is in Canyon, Texas and hosted by West Texas A&M.
