LUBBOCK, Texas (November 15, 2024) – The Lady Chaparrals are battling for seeding in the Lone Star Conference Championships as they close out the regular season with two home matches. Lubbock Christian University, with the potential to secure as high as the No. 5 seed, will host UT Tyler on Friday at 6 p.m. and Dallas Baptist on Saturday at 2 p.m., with Senior Day celebrations set for Saturday prior to opening serve.

LOOKING AT UTT
- The Lady Chaps and UT Tyler opened their all-time series during the 2019 season in Tyler, Texas, where the Patriots topped LCU 3-1 on Oct. 4, 2019. UTT leads the all-time series 5-0, winning all five meetings, including the previous contest 3-1 Sept. 30, 2023 in Lubbock. LCU is 0-2 all-time in Lubbock against the Patriots. Four of the five meetings have resulted in 3-1 decisions.
 
- The Patriots are coming off a NCAA South Central Regional appearance last season, as they were the No.8-seed. UTT, finishing with a 17-12 record, went 11-5 and tied for fifth place in the LSC standings. They were projected fifth this season in the LSC Preseason Poll.

- The UT Tyler Patriots volleyball team has had a strong season, boasting an overall record of 16-6 and a conference record of 13-1 in the Lone Star Conference (tied for second with Angelo State). They are currently on a six-game winning streak, maintaining an impressive .929 win percentage in conference play. With a solid home record of 7-1 and competitive performances both away (7-2) and on neutral courts (2-3), they are among the top teams in the standings. They will face Lubbock Christian and Angelo State to conclude the regular season and secure their seeding for the LSC Championships.

- UT Tyler's volleyball team shines in key statistical areas within both the national and Lone Star Conference standings. They rank 16th nationally and second in the conference for assists per set (13.12), which underscores their strong offensive support. Additionally, their kills per set (13.91) rank 25th nationally and third in the conference, showcasing a highly effective attack. Their hitting percentage of .243 places them 33rd nationally and fourth in the conference, reflecting a balanced and consistent offense that keeps them competitive on the court.

- Kota Hartman ranks highly in multiple key categories, including third in the conference for kills per set (3.84) and fifth in points per set (4.01), demonstrating her scoring impact. Additionally, Hartman ranks sixth in total kills (315) and total attacks (886) within the conference, highlighting her role as a consistent offensive force.
 
LADY CHAP NOTES
- Lubbock Christian enters Friday's match with a 13-11 overall record and a 9-5 mark in Lone Star Conference play, currently ranks sixth among LSC teams. They played their first 14 matches of the season away from home (includes seven neutral site matches…4-3), but have taken advantage of the limited home play, posting a 5-1 record on the home floor. Their six home matches is the fewest among all LSC programs (Cameron, with seven home matches, is the closest), with several programs playing 14 games at home this season. LCU's final four regular season matches are at home (two matches remaining in regular season).

- LCU stands out in the attacks per set category, entering Saturday averaging 37.5 attacks (per set), which ranks sixth in the Lone Star Conference and 58^th nationally. Kiana Fallaha and Lily Bickley are at the forefront, contributing significantly to this statistic. Fallaha ranks second in the conference with 10.9 attacks per set (31^st nationally) and has 738 total attacks (16th in the conference) despite missing six matches. Overall, LCU's total attacks amount to 3,448, which is sixth in the conference.

- This season marks LCU's fourth season under coach Keith Giboney. The Lady Chaps seventh head coach in program history has jumped into his 20th year of NCAA coaching. Giboney, who has four NCAA Tournament appearances and seven conference titles on his resume, surpassed 400 coaching victories in his first season with LCU and has a career coaching mark of 445-215. The Chaps head coach entered the season as the 29th best-active head coach in win percentage (.679) and as the 27th best-active head coach in victories (432). He has the third-highest win total of head coaches with less than 20 years of head coaching experience.

- Setter Kayton Genenbacher currently sits seventh all-time in LCU's career record books for assists with 3,095 (25^th actively among NCAA Division II assist leaders). On Nov.2 in Austin, Texas, she became the seventh Lady Chaps member in program history to reach 3,000 assists, and it came on the match-point of a 3-2 win over St. Edward's. Genenbacher ranks 12^th nationally in assists per set with an average of 11.1 which is second in the Lone Star Conference. She has amassed a total of 1,017 assists this season (second in the LSC and is 19^th nationally).
 
-The Lady Chaps have shown potential in several key statistical categories within the Lone Star Conference and at the national level. Notably, the team's digs per set average of 15.9 ranks seventh in the conference, highlighting a solid defensive effort, led by Leddy Rae Guinn (11^th in LSC with 3.9 digs per set). On the offensive side, the team's kills per set average of 13.8 is fourth in the conference, with Lily Bickley (seventh in LSC in points per set, 4.0) and Kiana Fallaha (11^th in points per set, 3.68) leading the way in scoring (points). Payton Murray has also been on display with double-figure kill efforts in 11 of the prior 15 matches and is averaging 3.25 kills per set over the 15-match span.
 
- LCU has made notable strides in conference play. Kayton Genenbacher has been a standout, averaging 11.9 assists per set (second in the LSC), contributing a total of 618 assists in 14 matches (leads LSC). Lily Bickley supports the offense with 180 kills (ninth in LSC), with Payton Murray (164, 14th in LSC) and Bryleigh Schweer (140, tied-22^nd in LSC) providing a balance attack (14.4 kills per set for LCU to ranking fourth in the LSC, and ranking sixth in hitting with a mark of .243). Bickley leads in hitting (.357, seventh in LSC) and points per set (4.38, fourth in LSC). Defensively, Leddy Rae Guinn leads LCU with an average of 4.21 digs per set (10th in LSC).
 
- LCU has showcased impressive strength at home, posting a 5-1 record in matches played. The team's offense stands out, averaging 15.1 kills per set and achieving a solid .256 hitting percentage, significantly outpacing opponents' .177 percentage. Strong setting has been a cornerstone, with LCU posting 14.3 assists per set, facilitated by standout performances from Kayton Genenbacher (12.3 per set). Defensively, LCU has dominated digs with a 15.9 digs-per-set average. Lily Bickley leads in kills 81 (3.68) and points with 109.5 (5.0 per set). Payton Murray, with 3.4 kills per set (67 total kills), and Bryleigh Schweer, averaging 3.23 kills and 1.09 blocks, has provided balance as well.
