Lady Chaps Try To Take LSC Series On The Road Saturday in San Antonio

LCU Trying To Claim Their Second Road Series In The LSC

SAN ANTONIO, Texas (March 9, 2024) – Lubbock Christian University and St. Mary's meet at 1 p.m. for a rubber match to decide their three-game Lone Star Conference series Saturday at St. Mary's Softball Stadium.

LCU and StMU Series Snapshot
  • With wins in nine of the prior 12 meetings, including the last four, LCU and StMU are even at 22-22 in the all-time series.
  • LCU is 8-17 all-time against StMU in San Antonio, winning three of their last five games there. Prior to Friday, the previous venture to StMU for LCU was Apr. 24, 2021 (prior five meetings and seven of the last nine have been in Lubbock).
  • This season edition of the series has the teams 1-1 heading into Saturday, as they split a doubleheader Friday, as LCU won 4-2 in the opener and the Rattlers responding with a 10-4 win in the second game.

    • LCU is .500 (7/14) in getting the leadoff batter aboard in the series, but unfortunately LCU has stranded 14 runners in the series
  • Twelve (12) of the previous 22 meetings have been decided by a run and eight of the past 12 LCU wins in the head-to-head series have been one-run decisions.
  • Skylar Herrera is hitting .474 (18-for-38) in 11 games over her career against StMU. She has 10 RBI and a trio of home runs (9-for-9 in stolen base attempts).
  • Tiarra Delrosario is 10-for-23 (.435) in seven career games against StMU.
  • Sydnee Bowlin is 4-for-9 (.444) with three RBI in three games against StMU.
  • Riley Flores has a .500 on-base percentage in three career games against StMU, as she is hitting .364 with 3 RBI and has three walks to go along with four hits.
  • Maxine Valdez has faced StMU six times in the circle in her career and is 4-0 with a 1.46 ERA. She has 29 strikeouts in 24.0 innings against the Rattlers.
