Lubbock Christian Speeds Toward First Provisional Marks of the Season

Chaps and Lady Chaps See Success With Four Marks at Red Raider Invite

LUBBOCK, Texas (January 26, 2025) – Lubbock Christian University continued their 2025 season by returning to the Sports Performance Center for the Red Raider Invite, hosted by Texas Tech University.
 
In their second meet of the year, LCU gained their first provisional mark, with the women's 4x400 relay of Elizabeth Florez, Jozlyn Arana, Joy Egwu and Anna Salisbury recording a time of 3:49.44. The members of the relay had standout individual performances, as well. Egwu finished 20th in the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.81, narrowly missing the provisional mark. Salisbury finished 28th in the 200-meter dash, clocking in at 25.94. In addition, she ranked sixth in the 400-meter dash, recording a 56.84, missing the provisional mark by only 0.2 seconds. Florez and Arana finished ninth and tenth in the 400-meter dash with times of 57.33 and 57.37 respectively. Anne-Lie Waite had an impressive performance finishing 26th with a time of 25.82 in the 200-meter dash.
 
On the men's side of competition, the Chaparrals had an impressive showing and also notched their first provisional mark of the season. Que Fields, Reuel Campbell, Chris Moffett and Daniel Sianez ran for a time of 3:13.11 in the men's 4x400 relay, surpassing the provisional mark. Campbell and Moffett had strong individual performances, as well. The duo gained the first individual provisional marks of the season placing fourth and seventh with times of 47.57 and 48.26 in the 400-meter dash, respectively. Sianez and Fields finished 13th and 14th in the 400-meter dash, recording times of 49.22 and 49.33. Freshman Aden Soto also competed in the event, clocking in at 49.37 and finished 15th. Rounding out the Chaparral competitors, Evaldo Whitehorne finished 18th in the 400-meter dash with a time of 50.24.
 
Lubbock Christian will continue their 2025 affair next weekend, returning to the Sports Performance Center for the Stan Scott Invite and Multi.
