Perales, Escamilla Pace Lubbock Christian To Ninth With School-Best 902 Total

AMARILLO, Texas (October 1, 2025) – Lubbock Christian University women's golf closed strong Tuesday at the West Texas A&M Fall Invitational, not only finishing ninth in a competitive 15-team field, but also rewriting parts of the program record book. The Lady Chaps posted a final-round 307 (+23) at La Paloma Course at Tascosa Golf Club (par 71, 5,807 yards) to settle at 902 (+50) for the tournament, setting a new program record for a 54-hole team score.

The previous 54-hole team record (912) had stood since the 2022 edition of the WT Fall Invitational, and LCU bested it by 10 strokes this week. Their opening round 297 was the second-best single-round score of the season and ranks fifth-best all-time in program history.

Anaya Perales led the charge with a tournament total of 223 (+10), tying for 23rd overall. The mark ties for the fourth-best 54-hole score in program history, and it is the best by a Lady Chap since Alexandra Escamilla carded 222 at the 2024 Lone Star Conference Championships. Perales opened the tournament with a 71 (E), matching the second-best round of her collegiate career (career-best: 69).

Alexandra "Ali" Escamilla tied for 31st at 226 (+13) after rounds of 73–71–82. Her second-round 71 equaled her career-best score and tied for the seventh-best single-round score in program history, a mark matched by Perales' opening 71. Escamilla also tallied seven birdies across the event, tying the team lead (with Perales).

Nadalie Cannell saved her best for the final day, carding a 73 (+2) to finish tied for 28th at 224 (+11). Her consistency across three rounds helped keep LCU inside the top 10 on the team leaderboard.

Alejandra Escobar (231, +18, T45) and freshman Hailey Hays (238, +25, T63) completed the scoring lineup. Playing as individuals, Kilee Ivy tied for 71st at 246 (+33) while Maryona Lusk placed 80th at 263 (+50).

Team-wise, the Lady Chaps ranked sixth in par-3 scoring (3.23, +14), posted 28 total birdies (10th in the field), and collected 152 pars (7th-most).

West Texas A&M (-11), the event host, won the team title, while Midwestern State (-7) and Odessa College (+1) rounded out the top three.
