Lady Chaps Keep Rolling, Rally Past Oklahoma Christian for 11th Straight Win

LCU Extends Win Streak to 11 and Opens Lone Star Conference Play 7–0 for First Time in NCAA Era

LUBBOCK, Texas (October 11, 2025) – Lubbock Christian University is off to its best conference start since 2009, rallying past Oklahoma Christian 3–1 (16–25, 25–17, 25–19, 25–16) Saturday afternoon inside Rip Griffin Center. The Lady Chaps improved to 15–4 overall and 7–0 in LSC play, extending their winning streak to 11 straight, their longest since 2018. The 7-0 conference start is their best in their NCAA era and the best since they opened Sooner Athletic Conference play 12-0 in 2009.

Freshman Emilee Sikora led the attack with a career-high 18 kills, matching the team high for a four-set match this season and posting a .317 hitting percentage. Setter Camdyn Sears orchestrated the offense with 38 assists and 11 digs for her 11th double-double of the season. Lily Bickley added eight kills and four blocks, while Camryn Blair hit .421 with eight kills. The Lady Chaps hit .221 for the match and tallied 48 kills — 30 of which came in the final two sets — and 63 team digs.

For Oklahoma Christian (10–6, 2–4 LSC), Katy Geurin and Annie Davis paced the Eagles with 15 and 13 kills, respectively, while Lauren Cary and Kathryn Christie combined for 11 blocks. Despite a season-high 10 aces, OC could not slow LCU's offensive surge in the final three sets.

Game Notes
» Freshman Emilee Sikora produced a career-high 18 kills and it matches Blair's 18-kill performance against CSU Pueblo (9/13/25) for the team-high for kills in a four-set match this season. Sikora, who was also perfect on 22 serve receptions, matched her high for points in a match with 19.5 (also had 19.5 against Fort Lewis College on 9/12/25).

» Freshman Camdyn Sears recorded her 11th double-double of the season (38 assists, 11 digs).

» The Chaps produced 48 kills, with 18 produced in the first two sets (combined) and 30 produced over the final two sets (combined).

» The Eagles produced 10 serving aces, which matches a season high for aces allowed (Southwestern Oklahoma State had 10 against LCU on Sept. 12). The Chaps won both of those contests despite the double-digit total in aces by the opposition.

» The win marked the Chaparrals' 11th consecutive win. The 11-match win streak is their best since a 12-match win streak in 2018.

» With Angelo State defeating UT Tyler on Saturday, the Lady Chaps are the only team in the Lone Star Conference without a conference loss. Improving to 7-0 in LSC play, LCU is off to their best conference start since starting 12-0 in 2009.

» LCU head coach Keith Giboney, now in his fifth season at the helm, notched his 76th career win with LCU on Saturday. Of those victories, none have come more often against a single opponent than the Eagles, as the win improved his record to 7–1 all-time against OC.

» LCU improves to 9-1 all-time against the Eagles (2-0 this season) with the win. They also improve to 4-1 against the Eagles at home all-time.

» The home win marked the Lady Chaps' sixth consecutive home win, and they improved to 7-2 at home this season.

How It Happened

SET 1 | OC 25, LCU 16
Oklahoma Christian stormed out to an early lead and never looked back in the opening set, taking a 25–16 win over Lubbock Christian. The Eagles used an 8–0 run behind consecutive aces from libero Macey Nehring and multiple kills from Annie Davis and Katy Geurin to seize a 10–2 advantage. LCU struggled to find rhythm offensively, committing several early attack errors and being blocked twice in the opening stretch. Senior Lily Bickley and Camryn Blair provided brief sparks with kills midway through the set (Blair led LCU in the frame with three kills), but Oklahoma Christian's balance proved too much, as Lauren Cary added timely kills and a late ace to close out the frame. The Eagles had 16 kills and produced four serving aces in the set.

SET 2 | LCU 25, OC 17
Lubbock Christian responded with authority in the second set. After trailing 5-3 early, the Lady Chaps responded with a strong 9-2 scoring stretch for a 12-7 lead (Sikora had three kills in the opening surge and led LCU in the frame with the kill total). The Lady Chaps' block came alive, with Lily Bickley, Bryleigh Schweer, and Tatum Fleitman combining for multiple stops at the net as OC struggled to sustain attacks. Bickley's late kill set up set-point before Camdyn Sears sealed it with a kill of her own, evening the match with a 25–17 win.

SET 3 | LCU 25, OC 19
After nine kills in each of the prior two sets, Lubbock Christian came out firing in the third set with 16 kills. They stormed out to an early 8–1 lead behind a dominant serving run from Olivia Elofsson and a flurry of kills from Emilee Sikora, who struck three straight to cap the surge. The Lady Chaps' offense hit in rhythm, with Camdyn Sears spreading the attack (12 assists) to Tatum Fleitman, Camryn Blair, and Lily Bickley, as the hosts maintained control throughout. Trailing 12-3, Oklahoma Christian fought back briefly with aces from Macey Nehring and Summer Van Meerveld, trimming the deficit to four, but LCU's balance proved too much. Bickley delivered three straight kills during a late run that extended the lead to 18–11, and Sikora sealed the 25–19 clincher with her fifth kill of the frame.

SET 4 | LCU 25, OC 16
In the fourth set, the Chaps overcame an early 3-0 deficit against the Eagles, powered by a series of attacks from Sikora and Tatum Fleitman. LCU then capitalized on a series of errors by the Eagles, including three consecutive attack errors that helped them secure an 8-4 lead. Sikora continued to be a dominant force, contributing 8 kills in the set, while Schweer and Fleitman fortified the defense with key blocks. En route to closing out the set on a 13-4 run, Sikora's final kill brought LCU to set point, and an attack error by OC's Kenzy McArtor sealed the 25-16 victory for the Chaparrals.

What's Next
The Lady Chaps head to Tyler, Texas Friday for a huge LSC battle, as they face UT Tyler (9-7, 5-1). LCU will be seeking their first-ever win over the Patriots (0-6 all-time against UTT).
