Swept Up in the Streak — Lady Chaps Roll Past Patriots for 12th Straight Win

Bickley’s Career Night, Sears’ 45 Assists Lead LCU to Program’s First Win Over Patriots

TYLER, Texas (October 17, 2025) – Lubbock Christian showed resilience and defensive dominance Friday night, battling through tightly contested sets to earn a 3–0 sweep (27–25, 25–22, 26–24) over UT Tyler inside Herrington Patriot Center. The victory gave the Lady Chaps their 12th consecutive win, matching their longest streak since 2018, and improved them to 15–4 overall and 8–0 in the Lone Star Conference, remaining the only unbeaten team in LSC play.

LCU's victory was driven by a strong team defensive performance at the net and in the back row. Senior Lily Bickley led the charge with 12 kills and six blocks (four solo), continuing her standout season while recording one of the top blocking performances in the program's rally-scoring era. Her four solo blocks tied for the second-most by an LCU player since 2008, and her six total blocks ranked among the top 10 in a three-set match during that span.

Freshman setter Camdyn Sears continued her breakout season, dishing out 45 assists—the fifth-highest total in LCU's rally-scoring era for a three-set match—and producing her 12th double-double of the season with 13 digs. Emilee Sikora, coming off a career-high 18 kills in her previous outing, added 11 kills, marking her 10th double-figure match of the season. Abby Dominguez anchored the defense with 19 digs, going a perfect 17-for-17 on serve receptions, while Olivia Elofsson added 10 digs.

The Lady Chaps held the Patriots (9–8, 5–2 LSC) to a .158 attack percentage and dominated the net with 11 total blocks, tying for the fourth-most in a three-set match since 2008. UTT was led by Autumn Perry with 13 kills and Jackie Velzis with 10, while setter Saige Rivera recorded 34 assists and libero Anna Arceneaux finished with 23 digs. Despite finishing with more kills (54–51), the Patriots couldn't overcome LCU's defensive wall and late-set execution.
