PUEBLO, Colo. (October 14, 2025) – Lubbock Christian University women's golf continued its strong fall form Tuesday, finishing 13th in a competitive 21-team field at the NCAA West Region Preview, hosted by Colorado State University Pueblo at Pueblo Country Club (5,981 yards | par 71). The Lady Chaps posted rounds of 310–316 for a 36-hole total of 626 (+58) in an event that served as a preview for next spring's NCAA Division II West Regional Championship.
Freshman
Nadalie Cannell once again led LCU, firing a 5-over 76 in the final round to close at 150 (+8) and tie for ninth place individually. Her two-day total marks her second top-10 collegiate finish of her career. Cannell excelled on the short holes all tournament, leading the entire 108-player field in par-3 scoring (2.80, -2) and ranking among the tournament leaders in pars (tied for ninth with 22).
Ali Escamilla carded an opening 76 followed by an 80 to finish tied for 37th at 156 (+14), while
Anaya Perales, who carded a 37 on the front nine, matched Escamilla's final-round 80 to finish one shot back at 157 (+15), tied for 45th.
Alejandra Escobar recorded her best round of the event with an 80 (+9) to tie for 75th, and
Hailey Hays completed the Lady Chap lineup at 168 (+26) (T-94).
LCU remained sharp in key scoring categories throughout the event. The Lady Chaps led all teams in par-3 scoring (3.18, +9) for the tournament and ranked eighth overall in total pars (92) — continuing a theme of consistency from their sixth-place standing after Round 1. The steady showing also placed LCU ahead of several regional opponents, including West Texas A&M, Angelo State, and Texas A&M International.
National powerhouse Dallas Baptist (DBU), the defending NCAA Division II champions, captured the team title with a two-round score of 584 (+16), followed by Cal State Los Angeles (610) and host Colorado State Pueblo (612). DBU's Madison Ude claimed individual medalist honors at even-par 142 (72–70).
