LUBBOCK, Texas (October 31, 2025) – After logging more than 2,500 miles across a season-long road stretch, the Lubbock Christian University Lady Chaparrals finally get to unpack their bags at Rip Griffin Center. LCU opens a five-match homestand to close the regular season Friday at 6 p.m. against Texas Woman's University, followed by a Saturday 2 p.m. matchup with Dallas Baptist in continued Lone Star Conference play.

LADY CHAP NOTES
» Lubbock Christian University volleyball (19–5, 11–1 LSC) had its 15-match win streak snapped Tuesday in a five-set battle at No. 14 West Texas A&M, marking its first Lone Star Conference loss of the season. The streak was LCU's longest since 2008 and ranked fifth-longest active in NCAA Division II entering the match. The Lady Chaps closed their season-long five-match road stretch at 4–1, moving to 9–2 in road contests this season. The setback also ended LCU's nine-match road win streak and its bid to remain the league's lone unbeaten team.
 
» LCU continues to set the offensive standard in the Lone Star Conference, leading the league in both kills per set (13.92) and assists per set (13.24)—ranking No. 21 and No. 14 nationally, respectively. The Lady Chaps also lead the LSC and rank No. 10 nationally in digs per set (18.74) and remain one of the nation's most efficient attacks with a .222 hitting percentage (6th LSC, 70th nationally).

» Statistically dominant across the board, LCU leads the LSC in total kills (1,267 – No. 3 nationally), assists (1,205 – No. 1 nationally), digs (1,705 – No. 3 nationally), and total attacks (3,570 – No. 8 nationally). The Lady Chaps also rank 4th in the LSC and 58th nationally in opponent hitting percentage (.156) and 5th in the LSC, 47th nationally in total blocks (174.5).

» Freshman setter Camdyn Sears continues to produce one of the top debut seasons in NCAA Division II. She leads the LSC and ranks No. 22 nationally in assists per set (10.40), while standing No. 5 nationally in total assists (926). Sears' 62-assist, 11-dig performance at UT Dallas tied the program record for a four-set match and remains tied for the highest four-set total in Division II this season. She owns 16 double-doubles (seven straight entering Friday) and has directed an offense that leads the LSC in both assists and kills per set.

» Senior middle blocker Lily Bickley delivered a standout 19-kill (.447) performance Tuesday at West Texas A&M—her season high—highlighting her place among the LSC's elite front-line performers. She ranks 5th in the LSC (No. 66 nationally) in hitting percentage (.340) and 8th in total blocks (69) while averaging 2.97 kills per set (16th LSC) and 3.51 points per set (12th LSC). Bickley owns 15 double-figure kill matches this season and earned LSC Offensive Player of the Week (Oct. 21) after hitting .410 with 28 kills and 10 blocks.

» Libero Abby Dominguez anchors one of the nation's top back-row defenses. She leads the LSC and ranks No. 10 nationally in digs per set (4.93) and No. 11 nationally in total digs (449). Dominguez has posted 10 20+ dig matches this season and leads a defense that ranks No. 10 nationally in digs per set and No. 3 nationally in total digs.
 
» Middle blocker Bryleigh Schweer provides balance and toughness at the net, ranking 9th in the LSC in hitting percentage (.292) and 6th in total blocks (79). She's averaging 2.10 kills and 0.98 blocks per set (6^th in LSC), highlighted by a career-best 19-point performance (15 kills, six blocks, ace) at UT Dallas that tied for the team lead in scoring that match.
 
» Following last week's road wins at Texas A&M International and Texas A&M–Kingsville, Camdyn Sears was named Lone Star Conference Setter of the Week and Emilee Sikora earned Offensive Player of the Week recognition—marking the second straight week multiple Lady Chaps have claimed LSC weekly awards. The previous week, Sears became the first player in LSC history to earn both Setter of the Week and Freshman of the Week in the same week, while Lily Bickley was tabbed Offensive Player of the Week after leading LCU to a pair of home victories.
 
LOOKING AT TWU
- TWU has an 8-5 edge in the all-time series between the two programs. The Pioneers have won the prior three meetings after a 3-1 win on Sept. 27, 2024 last season in Denton, Texas. TWU has a 3-2 all-time record in Lubbock, winning 3-0 in their previous visit to Lubbock (Sept. 15, 2023). The first four all-time meetings (of 12) were neutral site meetings and played between 1979 and 1988.
 
- Texas Woman's (15-7, 8-3 LSC) has surged into the top tier of the Lone Star Conference standings behind a three-match win streak and a strong 11-2 home record. The Pioneers have shown balance and consistency, collecting quality wins over DBU, Angelo State, and UT Permian Basin while going unbeaten in neutral-site play. Their offense has found rhythm late in the season, winning six of their last seven matches, as TWU looks to strengthen its postseason positioning entering a key road test at Lubbock Christian.
 
- Texas Woman's enters the weekend as the Lone Star Conference leader in blocks per set (2.57) and ranks second in opponent hitting percentage (.136), anchoring one of the league's stingiest defensive fronts. Middle blockers Jonaida Donowa (1.15 blocks/set) and Benedite Anuman—the reigning LSC Defensive Player of the Week—have powered a front line that has held opponents under .100 hitting in multiple sweeps during their recent win streak.
 
- Back-row reliability has fueled the surge. Junior libero Alyssa Rojo, who ranks second in the LSC and 31st nationally with 5.08 digs per set, headlines a defense that also ranks third in the league in digs per set (18.22). Her six matches of 20-plus digs have stabilized TWU's transition game, complementing setter Kiana Reed, who averages 6.20 assists per set while orchestrating a balanced offense that features multiple pin threats.
 
- While not among the league's most explosive attacking teams statistically, the Pioneers' .214 hitting percentage and 1.74 aces per set (fourth in the LSC) reflect growing consistency. Senior outside Tori Woods (3.07 kills/set) and junior Sydney Garrison, who's coming off a double-double against Texas A&M International, lead an attack that's produced 10 sweeps and is averaging just 12 hitting errors per match during their five-match home winning streak.
