LAKELAND, Fla. (November 2, 2025) — Lubbock Christian University defeated Augusta University 96-69 on Sunday at Jenkins Field House behind a dominant first-half performance and a career-high 37 points from
Amondo Miller Jr.
The Chaps took control early, building a 26-point lead by halftime, led by an efficient 11-for-17 shooting from beyond the arc. Augusta managed a 36-point second half, but Lubbock Christian's balanced attack and strong rebounding advantage secured the win.
LCU stands at 2-0 overall and Augusta's record is 0-2.Â
The Chaparrals started strong, quickly responding to an early Augusta three-pointer with
Kendall Dow's layup. Lubbock Christian then seized control with a series of effective plays, including a pivotal three-pointer by Dow and a layup by Miller Jr., which set the pace.Â
Through the first 10 minutes of play, LCU was shooting 75 percent from the field, including a 6-of-7 performance from behind the arc. And after some tough early buckets from Augusta, the Chap defense clamped down and held them without a basket for almost three minutes, leading by 22 at the under-eight media timeout. Â Despite Augusta's attempts to recover, the Chaparrals ended the first half with a 59-33 lead.
LCU maintained their strong performance in the second half, led by Miller Jr.'s scoring. The senior contributed efficiently, going 14-of-20 from the field, including 2-for-4 on three-pointers.
Alex Anamekwe also played a significant role, adding key points from beyond the arc and providing defensive stops with a pair of blocks.

Miller Jr. led the scoring for the Chaparrals with 37 points, hitting 14 of 20 from the field and converting seven free throws.
