WELCOME HOME
LCU capped its home opener with a commanding 72–49 win over Southern Nazarene on Friday inside Rip Griffin Center, lifting the Lady Chaps to 5–0 while extending their home win streak to 20 straight. Freshman
Meg Meekins set the tone in her "Rip" debut, erupting for 24 points on 9-of-15 shooting with six threes—the seventh-most in a single game in program history—while adding six rebounds, five assists and three steals.
Martie McCoy again delivered a steady all-around effort with 10 points, five assists and two steals.
LCU's depth and efficiency overwhelmed the Crimson Storm from the opening tip, as 13 different Lady Chaps scored and all 15 players saw at least 4:41 of action. LCU shot 48.2% from the field, dominated the paint 38–14, and forced 21 turnovers that fueled a decisive 20–2 advantage in points off giveaways.
SNU (0–2) was led by Halyn Browning's 10 points and Carley Gasaway's nine, while Hannah Duncan grabbed nine rebounds, but the visitors shot just 30.6% and never led. Meekins scored nine first-quarter points to help build a double-digit lead, and LCU's defensive pressure ensured the margin only grew from there.
