DOUBLE TROUBLE
LCU improved to 6–0 and extended its home winning streak to 21 straight with a 73–61 victory over Southern Arkansas, powered by a historic performance from junior guard
Kennedy Chappell and another explosive outing from freshman
Meg Meekins. Chappell turned in one of the most complete games of her LCU career, posting 27 points, six rebounds, six assists and going 11-of-12 at the free-throw line—becoming just the second Lady Chap in the NCAA era to record a 25–6–6 stat line. Meekins added 25 points on 9-of-16 shooting and hit five threes, opening 3-for-3 from deep in the first quarter for the second straight home game.
LCU shot 45% from three and committed just seven turnovers while converting SAU's mistakes into a 15–6 points-off-turnovers advantage. The Lady Chaps controlled the game after taking a 24–14 lead at the end of the first quarter and maintained a double-digit cushion until the final minutes.
Tia Johnson contributed eight rebounds, and
Martie McCoy added six points and four assists. SAU was led by 13 points from Shiloh Fletcher, but the Muleriders struggled to slow LCU's perimeter rhythm and shot 7-of-13 at the free-throw line.
CHAP-TIVATING STATS: 5 LADY CHAP FACTS

LCU owns the No.14 assist/turnover ratio in NCAA Division II and ranks No.1 in the Lone Star Conference at 1.20, thanks to just 13.2 turnovers per game (2nd-fewest in the LSC). The Lady Chaps pair that efficiency with league-leading 15.8 assists per game, giving them the conference's most efficient passing attack.
2 > Chappell Sets the Pace Nationally
Kennedy Chappell continues to operate at an all-conference—and national—level, ranking No.2 in the LSC and No.25 nationally in assists per game (4.8) while also sitting No.2 in the LSC in scoring (17.2 ppg) and No.2 in the league in field-goal percentage among high-volume shooters (.565). She is the national leader in free-throw attempts (35) and conference leader in free throws made (31).

Freshman
Meg Meekins ranks No.1 in the LSC and No.46 nationally in three-point percentage (.476), while also sitting No.1 in the league and No.2 nationally in total threes made (20). Her 3.33 threes per game rank No.1 in the LSC and No.15 nationally, fueling her 16.8 ppg (5th in LSC).
4 > A Conference-Leading Perimeter Attack

THE SERIES AGAINST SWOSU
LCU holds an 9-3 all-time record against SWOSU, including victories in the last six matchups. The most notable clash between the programs occurred on March 29, 2019, in Columbus, Ohio, when LCU defeated SWOSU in double overtime (95-85) to secure the 2019 NCAA Division II national championship. The teams also faced off in the 2020-21 postseason, with LCU prevailing 78-65 in Canyon, Texas, during the South Central Regional Championship (a matchup made possible by COVID-19 postseason realignment). This marks the fourth consecutive season the two teams have met since Jeff Zinn became head coach of the Bulldogs, with LCU spoiling his home debut on Nov. 21, 2022, in a 73-67 victory, which was LCU's most recent trip to Weatherford (win placed LCU with a 2-2 all-time record against SWOSU in Weatherford).

LUBBOCK, Texas (November 26, 2024) – LCU 67 - SWOSU 59
No. 5 Lubbock Christian University erased a 12-point deficit and overpowered previously unbeaten Southwestern Oklahoma State 67–59 at the Rip Griffin Center. The Lady Chaps improved to 8–0 behind a dominant night from

LCU trailed 23–13 after a cold first quarter and went into halftime down 36–29 before storming back with a 13–4 third-quarter run that included a momentum-shifting three from
Taylor Thomas. After entering the fourth down 47–46, the Lady Chaps weathered two early threes from SWOSU's Layni Zinn, answering both with triples from Foster. Her second three sparked an 8–0 run that established a 57–53 lead LCU never relinquished.
