RICHARDSON, Texas (November 4, 2025) - Lubbock Christian University seniors
Amondo Miller Jr. and
Alex Anamekwe were named the Lone Star Conference Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week, respectively, the league announced on Tuesday.
Both players earned spots on the Small College Basketball Hall of Fame Classic's All-Touranment Team, as the No. 25 Chaparrals opened the 2025-26 season 2-0 with wins against UVA Wise and Augusta, winning the two games by an average of 32.5 points.
Miller Jr. averaged 28 points, 8.5 rebounds, two assists and two steals to win the Most Valuable Player award at the tournament. He shot 65.6 percent from the field and 42.9 from beyond the arc while adding in 8.5 rebounds per game. He poured in a career-high 37 points against Augusta and added a block.
Anamekwe averaged a double double with 10 rebounds per game and added four blocks and five steals on the weekend. He averaged 16.5 points on 48.1 percent shooting and also dished out four assists. Anamekwe and company allowed just 36.3 percent shooting and 60.5 points per game from their two opponents.
Lubbock Chrisitan will be off this week, but will return to action at home at 7 p.m. on Nov. 14 with a game against a nationally-ranked Colorado School of Mines team.
