RICHARDSON, Texas (December 8, 2025) - Lubbock Christian University junior forward
Antonio Pusateri was named the Lone Star Conference Defensive Player of the Week, the league announced on Monday afternoon.
This is the fourth time this season that a Chaparral has been recognized with a weekly LSC award, including the second time for one to claim DPOW honors.
Pusateri pulled down 18 defensive rebounds, blocked four shots and averaged a double double to help lead the No. 4-ranked Chaps to a pair of conference wins over UT Permian Basin and Angelo State. Pusateri, who averaged 15 points and 2.5 assists per game and also had a steal, led a unit that allowed just 60.5 points per game and 40.7 percent shooting. Against UTPB, The California native registered his league-leading fourth double double of the year (19 points, 12 boards).
Overall this season, Pusateri is averaging 13.5 points on 55.8 percent shooting. His 9.4 rebounds per game leads the Lone Star Conference.
The Chaps have started the season 8-0 overall for their best start since 2021. They will next be on the court at 7:30 p.m. Thursday in Oklahoma City, taking on Oklahoma Christian.
