LUBBOCK, Texas (February 16, 2025) – Lubbock Christian University completed another weekend of competition at the Jarvis Scott Invitational with more provisional marks and new school records.
Junior
Joy Egwu etched a new record into the books, passing her previous 60-meter record of 7.70 with a new time of 7.68. She finished 33rd overall and was the third highest Division II finisher in the event.
Egwu followed a record-breaking performance with another as a participant in the 4x400 relay.

Jozlyn Arana and
Anna Salisbury joined Egwu to set a new record time of 3:43.35, surpassing the previous record of 3:44.98 set in the 2024 season. The quartet placed seventh overall and they were the second highest Division II finishers, trailing only West Texas A&M.
On the men's side of competition, Junior
Nathaniel Luna snagged his first provisional mark of the season, recording a time of 21.53 in the 200-meter dash. Luna fell just shy of his personal and school record of 21.2 set last season. He finished the event 26th overall and was the second highest Division II finisher.
In another historic performance, the men's 4x400 relay achieved a new record time of 3:10.81.

Chris Moffett raced past the previous record of 3:11.11 set this past season. In addition, the group placed 11th overall and were the only Division II team to compete.
After a record-breaking weekend, Lubbock Christian will seek more memorable results in their next meet. The Chaparrals and Lady Chaps have a date with the 2025 Lone Star Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships this coming weekend in Albuquerque, N.M.
