Rattle On: Lubbock Christian Continues Season in San Antonio

Lady Chaps Open Rattler Invitational Inside Top Ten

SAN ANTONIO, Texas (February 24, 2025) – Lubbock Christian University opened the Rattler Invitational in San Antonio, Texas with a +55 631 score. The Lady Chaps ended day one in sole possession of eighth place.

Anaya Perales leads the Lady Chaps after two rounds of play, scoring a +11 155. Perales drained 22 pars and three birdies across 36 holes, highlighting her consistent play. Overall, she sits in a tie for 22nd place. Alexandra Escamilla followed narrowly behind Perales, as she had a score of 156 and 12-over-par. Escamilla recorded five birdies through both rounds, which was the most of any Lady Chap on the day. She currently ranks in a tie for 27th.

Lily Griffin was the next Lady Chap in the standings, after she carded a +14 158 on the day. Griffin was highlighted by an even-par front nine in round two, one of two even frames for Lubbock Christian. Individually, she ranks tied for 36th. Alejandra Escobar rounded out team scoring for Lubbock Christian with a score of  162 and 18-over-par. Escobar scored three birdies in round one, which tied her with Escamilla for the most in the round. She is tied for 55th place in the overall standings.

Kyra Schmuhl ended her first rounds by turning in a score of 171 and 27-over-par. While not contributing to team scoring, she is tied for 76th place individually.

Lubbock Christian will look to improve in the final day of play, as the field of competition remains tight. The Lady Chaps will take part in the third and final round Tuesday from Dominion Country Club in San Antonio, Texas.
