LCU Has Another Record Breaking Weekend In Route to More Provisional Marks

SAN MARCOS, Texas (March 30, 2025) – Lubbock Christian University completed a three-day stint at the Bobcat Invitational with new broken records and more athletes securing provisional marks. The Chaparrals and Lady Chaps continue to make history this 2025 season, with their success carrying over into the outdoor season.

In only the second meet of the outdoor season, the women's 4x400 relay shattered the previous LCU school record, as they recorded of time of 3:42.24. Anne-Lie Waite, Joy Egwu, Elizabeth Florez and Anna Salisbury not only made school history, but they also secured the first women's provisional mark of the 2025 outdoor season. Notably, Egwu and Salisbury were the only members that were on the previous record setting relay that was set in 2023.

Salisbury decided not to stop at one new record, as she surpassed her personal and school record In the 400-meter dash. Her new record time clocked in at 53.03, edging the prior mark of 53.28 set by her last season. In addition, Salisbury claimed a provisional mark in the event, becoming the first individual woman to receive one this season. Salisbury competed in the NCAA Indoor Championships in the 400-meter dash and with her provisional mark, she will attempt to return to the national stage as the only LCU athlete to participate in both meets this season.

Annabell Phillips continued to torch the record book, once again setting a new mark in the 100-meter hurdles. She ran a 15.37, snapping her time of 15.50 set at last week's West Texas Relays. In her first season with Lubbock Christian, Phillips holds nearly every women's hurdle record, missing only the 400-meter hurdle. She continues to improve, breaking her personal and school records consistently week after week.

Moving over to the men's side, Daniel Sianez snagged his second provisional mark, with this one coming in the 400-meter dash. The freshman raced to a time of 46.82, surpassing the NCAA DII mark of 47.66. Sianez has already claimed a mark in the 200-meter dash at the West Texas Relays, bringing his outdoor total to two.

Reuel Campbell followed behind Sianez with a time of 46.98 to also secure a provisional mark. Campbell and Sianez both competed at the NCAA Indoor Championships as members of the 4x400 relay but now seek to make their way to the national stage as individual competitors.

Two relays for the Chaparrals saw provisional mark clinching performances. Another 4x100 group claimed their mark with a time of 40.65, as Trael Robertson replaced Nathaniel Luna in the lineup from the West Texas Relays. In addition, the 4x400 relay of Daniel Sianez, Reuel Campbell, Que Fields and Chris Moffett surged to a time of 3:09.37, narrowly missing the LCU record in a mark setting performance.

Lubbock Christian will stay close to home for their next meet, as they travel down 19th Street for the Masked Rider Open, hosted by Texas Tech. The meet will begin on April 4 and run through April 5 at the Sports Performance Center.
