LUBBOCK, Texas (April 15, 2025) – Four Lady Chaparrals were recognized for their academic success, as Lubbock Christian University's Grace Foster, Audrey Robertson, Reese Schumann and Audrey Spurgin notched CSC Academic All-District honors in Division II women's basketball.
 
LCU, claiming four student-athlete Academic All-District recipients, matches their highest total of All-District selections, for a third consecutive season, since eligible at the NCAA level (2014-15 was their first season eligible). The CSC changed their protocols of the award in 2022-23, and programs are unable to have more than four recipients. The quartet gives LCU 20 Academic All-District selections in women's basketball at the NCAA Div. II level in program history. Foster, Robertson and Schumann are multiple recipients and are the first members in program history to become three-year recipients of the honor. LCU has received an All-District selection in all but one season in which they have been eligible to receive recognition. They will now be nominated to receive Academic All-America accolades, which is announced April 16.
 
In order to be selected to an academic all-district team, a student-athlete must demonstrate success on the playing field and in the classroom, with academic and athletic achievements taken into consideration. The student-athlete must possess a minimum 3.30 cumulative GPA and be at least a sophomore in academic standing. 
 
Foster, a senior from Childress, Texas, was instrumental in LCU's 32-5 season, leading the Lady Chaps to the Elite Eight. The D2CCA and WBCA All-America selection averaged 20.2 points per game, ranking 11th nationally and second in the Lone Star Conference. She led the conference and ranked ninth nationally with 242 field goals made, shooting 48.6% from the field (60th nationally, fifth in the LSC). From beyond the arc, Foster posted a 40.9% three-point shooting accuracy, ranking 13th nationally and first in the LSC. At the free-throw line, she maintained an 89.6% success rate, ranking sixth nationally and leading the conference.
 
On the defensive side, Foster was a force on the boards, averaging 7.0 defensive rebounds per game (24th nationally, second in the LSC) and totaling 278 rebounds overall (42nd nationally, third in the LSC). Her rim protection was also notable, as she recorded 1.59 blocks per game, ranking 43rd nationally and third in the conference. Foster tallied 13 double-doubles on the season, ranking 26th nationally and third in the LSC.
 
Her postseason accolades include being named the Lone Star Conference Most Valuable Player and Academic Player of the Year. She was also named the D2CCA South Central Region Most Outstanding Player while earning D2CCA South Central Region First Team honors and a spot on the NCAA Division II South Central Region All-Tournament Team. This honor adds to her academic honors, as she has a 4.00 GPA in Criminal Justice.
 
Foster concluded her illustrious career with 2,056 career points, cementing herself as one of the all-time greats in LCU history. She leaves LCU as the program's all-time leader in career field goal attempts (1,427) and career field goals made (680). She also ranks second in career free-throw percentage (.892), third in career rebounds (896) and free-throws made (495), and fifth in career blocks (158) and free-throws attempted (555). Her 746 points this season shattered LCU's single-season record, along with her program-best 242 field goals made and 181 free-throws made. She also ranked third in single-season three-pointers made (81).
 
Robertson, a graduate student from Kerrville, Texas, completed her illustrious collegiate career as one of LCU's most durable athletes, finishing with 158 career games played—LCU's career record and finished two shy of the NCAA record. The Exercise Science graduate posted a perfect 4.0 GPA completing her undergrad degree and continues to maintain a perfect GPA as she pursues a Master of Science in Human Performance. The recipient of the prestigious Elite 90 honor this season in Division II women's basketball, Robertson was a versatile contributor for the Lady Chaps both offensively and defensively. In her final season, Robertson started all 37 games, averaging 11.6 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 2.4 assists per game while shooting an impressive 49.3% from the field and 43.1% from three-point range. Her defensive prowess was evident with 63 steals (ranking second in the LSC) and 17 blocks, including two in the Elite Eight quarterfinal against Pittsburg State. Robertson concluded her career with 1,407 points.
 
Schumann, a senior from Houston, Texas majoring in Exercise Science, made her mark as a formidable presence in the paint during her time at LCU. Appearing in 35 games with 24 starts in her final season, Schumann averaged 4.2 points and 3.7 rebounds per game while shooting an efficient 47% from the field. Her defensive impact was particularly notable, as she ranked second on the team with 31 blocks (0.89 per game, eighth in the conference) and contributed 13 steals. Throughout her four-year career, Schumann demonstrated remarkable consistency and growth, finishing with 113 career games played, 479 rebounds, 93 blocks, and 492 points.
 
Spurgin, a senior Exercise Science major from Fredericksburg, Texas, capped off her collegiate career as both a valuable rotation player and a campus leader. Serving as an officer for LCU's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC), Spurgin embodied the true meaning of student-athlete through her commitments both on and off the court. In her final season, she appeared in all 37 games, starting 12, while averaging 3.5 points and 3.1 rebounds in 15.6 minutes per game. Shooting an efficient 47.2% from the field, Spurgin provided reliable interior scoring and rebounding whenever called upon. Over her four-year career at LCU, Spurgin appeared in 109 games, contributing 302 points and 215 rebounds.
 
The Lady Chaps completed a 32-5 season and claimed their fifth Elite Eight berth in program history. Along the way, the Lady Chaps claimed a West Division title (in the Lone Star Conference) and a South Central Regional championship.
