ROCKWALL, Texas (April 22, 2025) -- Lubbock Christian University ended their Lone Star Conference Championships trip with a ninth-place team finish. The Lady Chaps a three round combined score of 939 and 75-over-par. As a team, Lubbock Christian ranked sixth in birdies, as they sunk 29 across the tournament.
Anaya Perales was once again the team's top finisher, continuing her Spring season-long streak of reaching the top of the leaderboard. After three rounds, Perales had a final score of 226 and 10-over-par, which tied her for 15 th overall. She was tied for the team lead in par 3 scoring, as she had an average of 3.17 and score of +2. In addition, she led the team and ranked tenth overall in par 5 scoring, with an average of 4.75 and score of –3.
Alexandra Escamilla trailed closely behind Perales, carding a +14 230 for the tournament. She ended her outing in a tie for 23 rd place with three other competitors. Escamilla was bolstered by exceptional birdie play, draining a tied tournament leading 12 across the 54 holes of play.
Alejandra Escobar remained third in the Lubbock Christian standings following the final round, as she had a total score of 238 and 22-over-par. She led the Lady Chaps in par 4 scoring, after she had an average of 4.20 and score of +6. Individually, Escobar tied for 38 th place.
Lily Griffin and Rianna LaFuente wrapped up the Lady Chap order, as they finished tied for 49 th and 51 st, respectively. Griffin had a three-day total of 246 and 30-over-par, while LaFuente ended with a score of 253 and 37-over-par. Griffin ranked third in par 5 scoring for Lubbock Christian, with an average of 5.25 and score of +3. In addition, LaFuente was second on the team in pars, as she recorded 28 across the tournament.
Lubbock Christian closed out their final scheduled tournament of the season, as they now await the decision of the NCAA West Regional Committee for their potential regional bid. The Lady Chaps entered the week ranked 13 th in the West Regional Rankings, with the top 12 teams making the West Regional Championships in Amarillo, Texas. Even if Lubbock Christian fails to meet the threshold for team qualification, individual Lady Chaps can still make the field, as the top six individuals that are not a part of the teams selected advance to regional play. Specifically, Anaya Perales is under consideration to receive an individual berth following a stellar season and selection to the LSC All-Conference Second Team. Last season, Alexandra Escamilla became the first regional participant in the NCAA-era for Lubbock Christian, as the Lady Chaps are attempting to make it consecutive years with at least one participant at the tournament.
