LCU carries an eight-game win streak, while WTAMU comes to Lubbock winners of their last 28 contests.

The Lady Buffs clinched the LSC West Division title after shutting out Sul Ross State in a pair of dominant wins, posting a 12-0 run-rule decision in game one and a 5-0 shutout in game two to complete their regular season home slate.
- The Lady Buffs boast the most potent offense in NCAA Division II, leading the nation in batting average (.386), hits (535), home runs (84), RBIs (416), total runs (474), slugging percentage (.682), and on-base percentage (.458).
