GOODYEAR, Ariz. (April 5, 2025) – Lubbock Christian University concluded their regular season with a sixth-place finish at the RJGA Palm Valley Classic. The Lady Chaps put together a +12 300 in the final round, finishing with a total score of 591 and 15-over-par.
Anaya Perales closed the regular season with her fifth straight top-team finish, which made her the top-team finisher in every Spring tournament. She led the team in par 4 scoring, as she finished second overall in the category with an average of 3.85 and score of -3. Furthermore, she had 27 pars and six birdies in 36 holes of play. As a result of her strong play, she finished in sole possession of third place with a two-day total of 141 and three-under-par.
Following Perales, Alejandra Escobar had a day two score of six-over-par to end her tournament with a +6 150. Escobar racked up 25 pars across 36 holes, which was third most on the team. Overall, she tied for 34th place. Alexandra Escamilla was one stroke shy of Escobar, as she totaled a score of 151 and seven-over-par. Escamilla sank 28 pars to lead the Lady Chaps in the tournament. She closed her tournament with a tied 41st place finish.
Rianna LaFuente carded a +9 153 after two rounds of play to land in a tie for 50th place. She led the team in par 3 scoring, with a 3.00 average and even-par score. Lily Griffin rounded out the Lady Chap standings, as she finished her tournament appearance with a score of 156 and 12-over-par. She recorded the lone eagle of the tournament for Lubbock Christian, coming on hole 5 in round one Friday. Griffin closed the week in a tie for 72nd place.
Lubbock Christian will have around a week off to rest before taking part in their first postseason tournament, the Lone Star Conference Championships. The Lady Chaps will travel to Rockwall, Texas on April 21 with their sights set on securing a bid for the NCAA Division II West Regional Championships. The top twelve regionally ranked teams will qualify for the tournament, with Lubbock Christian entering this week ranked 16th and will await the newest rankings this coming week.
