SAN ANTONIO, Texas (February 24, 2026) - Lubbock Christian closed its second event of the spring season Tuesday with a 10th-place finish at the Rattler Invitational, hosted by St. Mary's at The Dominion Country Club.

The Chaparrals posted rounds of 324, 307 and 312 to finish at 943 (79-over) in the 54-hole event. Round 1 and portions of Round 2 were played Monday before darkness suspended play. The field returned Tuesday morning to complete the second round before battling strong winds throughout the final round.

Senior
Anaya Perales and freshman
Nadalie Cannell paced LCU, each tying for 32nd at 233 (17-over). Perales, a Midland native and UT Permian Basin transfer, rebounded from an opening-round 82 with a 2-under 74 in Round 2 — the team's lowest round of the tournament — and added a 77 in the final round. Perales finished tied for the tournament lead with two eagles.

Cannell improved each round, carding 81-77-75. Her 3-over 75 on Tuesday included a 1-under 35 on the front nine. Cannell also ranked among the top 10 in the field in par-5 scoring average at 4.83 (-2).

Freshman
Abigail Archunde placed 45th at 236 (20-over) after rounds of 79-78-79. Senior Ali Escamilla finished tied for 66th at 242 (26-over), and junior
Hailey Hays placed 72nd at 245 (29-over).

As a team, LCU tied for second in the field with two eagles and tied for sixth with 26 birdies. The Chaparrals averaged 3.38 on par 3s and 4.49 on par 4s, ranking 10th and seventh in those categories, respectively. LCU was led by Cannell's steady play on the par 5s, where she tied for ninth individually.

DBU captured the team title at 866 (2-under), led by individual medalist Ella Cheek, who finished at 14-under 202.

The Rattler Invitational marked LCU's second tournament of the spring slate. The Lady Chaps will return to action March 23-24 at the Hardscrabble Invitational in Fort Smith, Arkansas, hosted by Ark. Fort Smith (UAFS) at Hardscrabble Country Club.
