FRISCO, Texas (March 4, 2026) – Four Lubbock Christian University players were recognized with Lone Star Conference postseason awards on Wednesday night, including LSC Player of the Year
Amondo Miller Jr. and Newcomer of the Year
Antonio Pusateri.
Â
Miller and Pusateri were both also named to the All-Conference First Team, and Pusateri is a member of the league's All-Defensive Team. Senior guard
Kendall Dow was named to the All-LSC Second Team, and
Lucas Mercandino was named to the All-LSC Third Team.
Â
This is the second-straight season and fourth time for a Chapparal to win the LSC's Player of the Year award in their seven years in the league. Parker Hicks claimed the honor in both 2021 and 2022, and
Ethan Duncan won it last season.
Â
The Littleton, Colorado, native leads the LSC in scoring this season averaging 20.9 points per game on an extremely efficient 51.1 percent shooting. He also averages 8.4 rebounds per game, leads the team in steals with 42 and has dished out 91 assists this year. His 35:43 minutes per game are the most by a league player and he has the two highest-scoring games in the LSC this season. He moves to the All-Conference First Team after a selection to the Third Team last season.
Â
Pusateri is the first Chaparral to claim the LSC's Newcomer of the Year Award, as he averaged a double-double in his first year at the Division II level. The California native scored an average of 16.5 points and pulled down 10.9 rebounds in the 30 LCU games this season. He shoots 59.8 percent from the field, which ranks third in the conference. His rebounding average is sixth in the nation, and his 20 double-doubles are the second most by a D-II player.
Â
Dow is capping off his four-year LCU career with a stellar senior season, averaging 15.1 points per game and playing the second-most minutes per night of any LSC player. The sharp-shooter's 41.5 three-point field goal percentage leads the conference and ranks No. 25 nationally, and he is averaging 2.8 made three-pointers per game.
Â
Mercandino was another new addition to the Chaps for the 2025-26 season, starting all but one game for the team this season. He is the team's leader in assists with 101 and ranks ninth in the conference in that category while also averaging 11.3 points and 3.1 rebounds per game.
Â
The Chaps finished the regular season 26-4, which is the most wins since the 2021-22 season when they won a program record 27 games. LCU will take on St. Edward's in the quarterfinal of the Lone Star Conference Tournament at noon on Thursday at the Comerica Center.
