LUBBOCK, Texas (May 1, 2026) – Lubbock Christian University ran at the final meet of the 2026 outdoor season on Thursday, competing at the Corky/Crofoot Shootout hosted by Texas Tech at the Terry & Linda Fuller Track & Field Complex.

Although there were no provisional marks set at the meet by LCU athletes, there were a number of top-10 finishes and personal bests.

Sophomore
Landon Lee won his heat in the 100-meter with a time of 11.08 seconds, which was good enough to place him 10
th in the event overall.
Â
On the distance side,
Gavin Morrison took seventh in the 5000-meter with a time of 15:14.08, which was also a new personal best.
Â
The only other top-10 placing from a Chaparral came in the 400-meter hurdles, where
Yair Berrios took seventh. He completed the race with a time of 56.53.

For the Lady Chaps,
Joy Egwu continued her standout senior season with a pair of top-10 placements. She took ninth in the 200-meter with a time of 24.74 seconds and placed 10
th in the 100-meter with a time of 11.97 seconds.

Olivia Weider ran her fastest time of the season in the 5000-meter, where she took fifth with a time of 18:30.57 and
Shelby Robinson took sixth in the discus with a throw of 41.71 meters.

The Chaps and Lady Chaps will now gear up for the 2026 Lone Star Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships, which will be hosted by West Texas A&M May 7-9 in Canyon, Texas.
