LADY CHAP HEADERS

• After a two-game road swing, Lubbock Christian University returns home for a matchup with Angelo State at 11 a.m. on Saturday at the LCU Soccer & Track Complex
• With a 1-0-2 league record, the Lady Chaps now have five points, putting them in sole possession of sixth place in the LSC standings, and they are one of the six unbeaten teams in league play
• Three Lone Star Conference teams remain undefeated overall this season, including Midwestern State (7-0), Texas Woman's (7-0) and Dallas Baptist (6-0)
• The Lady Chaps have never beaten Angelo State in women's soccer, going 0-7-2 in the all-time series, which dates back to 2019, when LCU joined the Lone Star Conference
• LCU has only lost once through its first seven matches, making this their best start to a season since 2021, when they did not lose their second match until the 10th game of the year

 
ALL THE WRIGHT PLACES
The Lady Chaps are coming off a road draw in which they shut out their opponent for just the second time this season. The clean sheet was recorded largely in part thanks to senior goalkeeper Emma Wright, who set a new career high with 10 saves in the matchup with Sul Ross State. It was the first time a Lady Chap goalkeeper has reached the double-digit save mark since 2023, when Kara Murray had 10 saves against Regis. Wright has played six full games this season, posting a goals against average of exactly 1.00. She has 30 saves now this season and her .833 save percentage is tied for fifth-best in the LSC.
 
IN THEIR DEFENSE
LCU has now shut out two teams – Sul Ross and CSU-Pueblo – this season. goals against average this season is 1.00, which ranks sixth in the LSC. Lubbock Christian opponents are averaging 11.6 shots per game and putting just 53.1 percent of those shots on frame. Freshman Araceli Patterson has anchored the back line, leading the team with 539 minutes played in her first collegiate campaign. Angelo State comes into the weekend matchup averaging 1.29 goals per game, which is 10-th best in the league.
 
DOWN ON THE CORNER
Lubbock Chrisitan held Sul Ross State without a corner kick in Wednesday's matchup, marking the third time this season they have limited an opponent to zero corners. They also did so in back-to-back matches earlier this season against Wayland Baptist and Western Colorado. When CSU-Pueblo finally earned a corner kick late in the Sept. 6 game, it broke a streak of 344 minutes and seven seconds without a corner allowed. The Lady Chaps themselves have tallied 28 corner kicks, which is tied for the seventh-most in the conference. They had a season-high eight corner kicks against CSU-Pueblo.
 
OFFENSIVE OUTPUT
The Lady Chaps were shut out for the first time all season on Wednesday against Sul Ross, but still maintain a scoring average of 2.29, which is in the top half of the LSC. They scored a season-high eight goals earlier this year against Western Colorado, which is the third-most in program history. LCU is averaging 13.0 shots per game and has put 53.8 percent of those on goal. Kaslee Roskelley leads the team in points with eight, which is also tied for eighth in the league. She and Logan Holloway co-lead the team with three goals apiece, but seven other Lady Chaps have found the back of the net at least once.
 
HOW CAN I HELP YOU
On their 16 goals scored so far in 2026, LCU has tallied 13 assists, or 2.00 per game which is the fourth-best mark in the conference. Nine different Lady Chaps have assisted at least one goal this year, including Claire Jacobson, whose assisted the game-winning goal against OC for her first of the year. Three players have multiple assists, including Rotan, who leads the team with three, Roskelley and Curs. Rotan's three assists are also tied for the third-most among LSC players.
 
WHERE THE HEART IS
Lubbock Christian is currently 1-1-1 at home after going 4-4-1 at the friendly confines last year. Including Saturday's game, they have six home contests left this year. The LCU Soccer & Track Complex was completed in August of 2020 and features an AstroTurf playing surface, a Musco lighting system to allow for night games and stadium seating for 500 fans. LCU's women's team has an all-time record of 71-37-24 all-time in home games. They have only posted losing records at home twice in 15 seasons. They did not lose a home game in 2015 (7-0-2) and won a program-high eight home games in 2019 (8-1-1).
 
SCOUTING THE RAMBELLES

• Angelo State is under the direction new head coach Mike Erwin, who most recently was the associate head coach at St. Mary's for six seasons
• Juliana Garcia leads the Belles and is tied for fourth in the Lone Star Conference with four goals scored this season, but three of them came in an ASU loss at Western Colorado
• Claire Stoermer has handled the majority of the goalkeeping for ASU, posting a save percentage of .722 with 15 goals allowed in 595 minutes of action
• Despite their nine goals scored so far this season, the Belles have recorded only one assist, which is tied for the fewest in the LSC
• ASU's only win so far this season came against CSU-Pueblo by a score of 3-1 in just their second game of the season
