MIAMI SHORES, Fla. (September 4, 2026) – Lubbock Christian University continued its battle against nationally ranked competition Friday, facing No. 21 Lynn at the Barry Invitational before the Fighting Knights secured a 3-0 victory (25-15, 25-21, 25-16) inside the Health & Sports Center in Miami Shores, Florida.
The Lady Chaparrals fell to 3-3, while Lynn improved to 3-1. All six of LCU's matches this season have been decided in straight sets.
Freshman
Kayson Reeves produced the strongest offensive performance of her young collegiate career, leading LCU with 10 kills on just 14 attempts. Reeves committed one attack error and finished with a .643 hitting percentage for her first career double-figure kill performance.
Leigh Jespersen added seven kills and six digs, while
Camdyn Sears finished with 20 assists, three kills and five digs.
Ramsey Clark led LCU defensively with nine digs.
LCU used a different starting lineup, with freshman
Shaylee Stevens and sophomore
Kat Dulin making their first collegiate starts. Stevens finished with three kills and three block assists, while Dulin added three block assists and a kill.
The Lady Chaps stayed within striking distance through much of the second set, building an 11-7 lead before Lynn answered with five consecutive points. LCU later pulled within 23-21 before the Fighting Knights scored the final two points.
Lynn hit .278 for the match and recorded 10 service aces, including four in the third set. LCU finished with 27 kills and a .088 attack percentage.

The 17 combined errors are the most since 18 were committed by LCU and Missouri Western (each had 9) on Sept. 6, 2025. Lynn's mark of 10 aces is the most by an LCU opponent in a three-set match since San Francisco State had 10 on Sept. 14, 2024.

- The teams traded points through an 11-11 tie, with the Lady Chaps pulling even at 9-9 on a Dulin kill from
Camdyn Sears and again at 11-11 on a Knights attack error.
- The Fighting Knights moved ahead 18-12 during a 7-1 scoring stretch that included kills from Zara Rendic, Alexia Radulovic and Lillia Neill, followed by an Ella Voorhees service ace.
- Reeves had kills at 18-13 and 21-14, but the Knights closed the set with the final four points to take it 25-15. She led LCU with four kills in the set.
SET 2 | LYNN 25, LCU 21

Camryn Blair served consecutive aces before Reeves' kill put the Lady Chaps ahead 6-3.
- The Lady Chaps later led 11-7 after kills from Stevens and Blair, but the Fighting Knights scored five straight points to move in front 12-11.

Sienna Cavalier's backrow kill tied the set at 15-15, and the Lady Chaps went ahead 16-15 before the Knights moved back in front 19-17.

Leigh Jespersen and Sears had late kills as the Lady Chaps cut the margin to 23-21, but the Fighting Knights scored the final two points to take the set 25-21 (Lynn closed the set on an 8-4 run).

- The Knights won the first three points before the Lady Chaps tied the set at 3-3 on kills by Reeves, Sears and Jespersen.
- After the teams traded points through 9-8, the Fighting Knights used a 4-0 stretch to move ahead 13-8 before Jespersen's kill brought the Lady Chaps back within 13-10.
- The Knights pushed the margin to 21-13 on a 7-3 run, while Reeves had two late kills to keep the Lady Chaps in the set.
