Blair, Fleitman And Jespersen Reach Double Figures As LCU Claims Four-Set Victory Over Converse

MIAMI SHORES, Fla. (September 5, 2026) – A trio of player in double figures in kills helped Lubbock Christian University snap a three-match skid Saturday morning with a four-set 3-1 victory over Converse (27-25, 25-23, 18-25, 25-14) at the Barry (Buccaneer) Invitational inside the Health & Sports Center.

The Lady Chaparrals improved to 4-3, while Converse fell to 1-5. The match was LCU's first of the season to extend beyond three sets after its opening six contests were all decided by sweeps.

Camryn Blair powered the Lady Chaps with 17 kills, four service aces and a career-high 22 points. Blair hit .286 and also added eight digs, recording her fourth double-figure kill performance of the season.

Tatum Fleitman added a career-high 12 kills while hitting .364, and Leigh Jespersen finished with 11 kills and eight digs. Camdyn Sears directed the offense with 41 assists and 15 digs for her second double-double of the season and 25th of her LCU career.

LCU survived tight opening sets that featured 16 combined tie scores before Converse forced a fourth set. The Lady Chaps responded emphatically, holding Converse to five kills and a -.121 hitting percentage in the final frame.

LCU finished with 53 kills, nine service aces and eight total blocks. Ramsey Clark led the Lady Chaps with 17 digs, while Kayson Reeves contributed seven kills and five block assists.

Game Notes
» Camryn Blair had a huge performance with 17 kills and career-high marks in aces (4) and points (22.0). Her 17 kills (one shy of matching her career-high mark) marked her 10th career double-figure kill performance and fourth of the season.

» Tatum Fleitman hit .364 with a career-high total of kills (12) for her fourth career game of at least 10 kills (first this season).

» Leigh Jespersen produced her second career double figure performance in kills with 11, which was also her 19th of her career (she had 17 at Hardin-Simmons).

» Camdyn Sears registered 41 assists and 15 digs for her second double-double of the season and 25th of her LCU career. She also had two blocks and a kill in the match.

» Freshman Lauren Hanson made her collegiate debut in the fourth set and served her first ace.

» LCU claimed the win despite 15 serving errors, which is the most since they had 15 on Sept. 4, 2010, which ironically also resulted in a victory (3-2 win at West Texas A&M). One game after LCU and Lynn combined for 17 serving errors (10 by Lynn), the two teams Saturday combined for 21 errors, which is the most since LCU and St. Mary's combined for 21 serving errors on Sept. 18, 2017. 33 points were decided via serves, as the two teams also combined for 12 serving aces, with 9 produced by LCU (second time this season they have had at least 9 aces in a game).

» The neutral site win places LCU with a 4-2 record this season in neutral site matches.

» LCU's seventh match of the season was their first of the season not resulting in a straight-set final, as LCU is now 1-0 in matches ending in four sets.

» The two squads were meeting for the first time all-time, as each of the four opponents LCU is facing at the Barry Invitational are first-time meetings.
