Box Score LUBBOCK, Texas (September 14, 2014) – Friday, the Lubbock Christian University Lady Chaparrals defeated a Colorado based university 1-0 with a goal off a corner kick. Sunday, another Colorado based program returned the favor. Francesca Rand's corner kick in the 75th minute found its way into the goal and Western State Colorado University handed LCU their first loss of the season with a 1-0 final from a rainy LCU Soccer Field.

Lauren Story attempted to make a save on the bending corner, but the ball slipped through her hands and into the goal for Rand's third goal of the season. It was one of seven corner kick attempts in the second half (none attempted in the first half) by WSCU. The goal ended LCU's shutout sequence at 287:30 and Story's sequence at 265:14.
LCU had four shots in the final 15 minutes and a pair of corner kicks in the final 90 seconds, but they were unable to avoid their eighth home shutout in program history. Overall, LCU out-shot WSCU 12-10 and had a 3-2 advantage in shots on goal. Story stopped one of two shots and suffered the loss (3-1-0). Meghan Jedrzejewski stopped all three LCU shots on goal and improved to 3-0-1. She extended her shutout sequence to 303:18.
The Lady Chaps hit the loss column for the first time this season and fall to 3-1-0. WSCU improved to 3-0-1 to remain unbeaten. LCU will hit the road for their next four games, beginning Sept. 19th in Wichita Falls, Texas facing Midwestern State University.
