WEATHERADA, Okla. (September 21, 2014) – The Lubbock Christian University Lady Chaparrals are seeking to end a two-game losing streak Sunday at 1 p.m., as they remain on a four-game road trip to face East Central University at Lady Tiger Field.
LADY CHAPS FLIGHT DECK• The Lubbock Christian University Lady Chaparrals play the second game of a four-game road trip. They head to Texas-Permian for a non-conference game Thursday to continue road play.
• LCU opened the trip with a 2-1 loss at Midwestern State, who is unbeaten through six games on the season.
• The Lady Chaps are 1-1-0 on the road this season and 10-9-0 all-time under head coach
Alex Denning. LCU went 4-4-0 last season on the road and they are 21-14-3 all-time on the road.
STORY LINES• Apparently, when the Lady Chaps lose, it is contagious. LCU has not had a one-loss losing streak since the inaugural 2010 season.
• Friday,
Jamie Boone scored LCU's lone goal against Midwestern State, which ended MSU's home shutout sequence at 625:37.
• LCU has outscored their opponents 6-1 in the first half of games this season. LCU has scored first in four of their five games this season.
• The last three LCU games have been decided by one goal. The last time LCU had three straight games decided by one goal was in October of 2011. That same season, LCU had five consecutive games decided by one goal.
• LCU head coach
Alex Denning is no stranger to East Central University. ECU is out of the Great American Conference, which is the same conference Denning previously coached in while at Ouachita Baptist. ECU defeated OBU in penalty kicks after a 0-0 tie in the GAC Championship Game in 2011.
SCOUTING ECU• The Tigers are 2-3-1 this season and enters the game following a 2-1 loss on the road to Northeastern State.
• ECU is 2-0-0 at home this season, which includes a 2-1 win over fellow Heartland Conference member Newman.
• The Great American Conference has picked the Tigers fifth in their conference preseason poll. They completed the 2013 season 4-13.
• Defender Margaret Glutz is the reigning GAC Defender of the Week.
SERIES HISTORY WITH ECU• No prior meetings
• This contest will mark LCU's first ever game against a member of the Great American Conference. Oklahoma Baptist is in transition from moving from the NAIA to the GAC and NCAA Division II, but prior meetings with OBU were as former Sooner Athletic Conference foes.
