LADY CHAPS WRAPPING UP HOME OPENING WEEKENDLubbock Christian University finally got their first home game under their belt and they conclude play in their first weekend at home Saturday hosting Fort Lewis College. LCU enters the game 3-0 following an 89-55 win Friday over Eastern New Mexico.
OF NOTE FROM FRIDAY'S WIN-
Tess Bruffey recorded 17 points in the first half and was one of 13 Lady Chaparrals to figure into the offense, as Lubbock Christian University cruised to an 89-55 win over Eastern New Mexico in their home opener Friday inside Rip Griffin Center.
- - Both teams exercised their roster, as the teams combined to use 27 different players. LCU used all 14 players on their roster and they received points from all but one. No Lady Chap played less than eight minutes and no player played more than 20 minutes.
- - Bruffey and Kelsey Hoppel accounted for 18 of the team's 27 points in the first quarter. They each had nine points in the quarter, with Hoppel's all coming beyond the arc. She opened the game 4-of-4 from downtown and finished with 12 points (all in the opening half).
- - Chitsey finished with a career-high 13 points, going 4-for-4 from the field in her first home game inside Rip Griffin Center.
- - LCU completed the game assisting on 25 of their 30 field goals, with 12 different players credited with at least one assist. Haley Fowler led all players with five assists.
- - Kellyn Schneider joined Bruffey, Hoppel and Chitsey in double figures by finishing with 11 points, eight rebounds and four blocks in 17 minutes of play.
OFF TO A GOOD STARTLCU is 3-0 to start the season, which is their best start since opening the 2012-2013 season 16-0. LCU's 3-0 start began with a pair of road wins, marking the first time LCU has opened the season with a 2-0 start and the wins coming on the road since the 1994-1995 season when LCU opened the season with wins at Oklahoma Panhandle State and St. Edward's.
HOME OPENERSWith Friday's win, the Lady Chaps have won four consecutive home openers. Their last home opening loss was a 61-44 loss to Metro State on Nov. 5, 2011. LCU is now 12-1 all-time in home openers under
Steve Gomez.
LOW KEYLCU has allowed an average of 47.3 points this season,. They entered the week ranking fifth nationally. Flagler leads the nation allowing 35 points per game. LCU's defense entered the weekend ranking ninth nationally, holding opponents to a 28.1% shooting percentage (currently at 28.3%).

Kelsey Hoppel is 13 three-pointers away from moving past
Haley Burton (204) and into third all-time in program history for career three-pointers.

FIVE THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT FLC The Skyhawks opened their season last weekend with home wins over Westminster College and Eastern New Mexico for a 2-0 start. They improved to 3-0 Friday in Lubbock with a 69-54 win over Texas-Permian Basin.
The Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference preseason picked the Skyhawks fifth in the conference and third in the Mountain Division.
Senior Mary Rambo is a RMAC Preseason All-Conference selection and was a First Team All-Conference selection last season.
Fort Lewis College has 21 three-pointers through three games on the season. Kylie Santos leads the team with eight three pointers on the season.
Kylie Santos leads the team averaging 11 points a game and entered the weekend co-leading the nation with an average of 3.5 three-pointers per game.
THE SERIES AGAINST FLCThe Skyhawks lead the all-time series with a 5-2 mark. The two teams have not played since Nov. 17, 2006, as FLC won 69-64 in a tournament FLC hosted in Durango, Colo. LCU's last win came in Pueblo, Colo. against FLC on Dec. 3, 2005 (66-62). The Lady Chaps are 1-0 all-time against FLC in Lubbock, which came on Nov. 23, 1987 (98-83).

Fort Lewis College outscored LCU 43-30 in the second half to rally for a 69-64 win in Durango, Colo.
Ashley Hunter led LCU with 14 points and Sierra Wilcox-Lovorn provided 13. The Lady Chaps fell despite going 27-of-30 from the line.
