History between Lubbock Christian and Arkansas-Fort Smith
A brief history exists between the Lady Chaps and this week's opponents. The teams have squared off five times, with the Lady Lions winning on each occasion. Versus UAFS, no match has lasted more than four sets with the Lady Lions owning a pair of sweeps.

Last meetings amongst the squads
Lubbock, Texas (October 25, 2014) – Lubbock Christian was unable join Arkansas-Fort Smith atop the Heartland Conference standings after being swept by the Lady Lions in a 1-2 showdown Saturday afternoon at the Rip Griffin Center. The match against UAFS (20-4, 12-1 Heartland) marked the first time this season the Lady Chaps (15-5, 11-3 Heartland) have been swept and gave LCU a two-game losing streak, its only string of defeats on the year. The Lady Chaps attack percentage was a dismal .037 on the day, bettering only the .012 hit against the Lady Lions in Fort Smith, Ark., on September 18, where UAFS won 3-1. LCU has yet to ever beat Fort Smith, dropping all four contests dating to the 2012 season. No Lady Chap reached double-digit kills on the afternoon, the first such occurrence this season, with Maddie Johnson and Channing Castleberry tallying a team-high seven. Per the squad tallying a season-low 26 kills, Erin Fisher, the conference's leader in assists per set, was only able to hand out 23 total helpers.

Heartland chooses French as LCU's first Libero of the Week
WACO, Texas (September 14, 2015) – Kelsie French of Lubbock Christian University was honored as the program's first recipient of the Heartland Conference Libero of the week on Monday. French produced three matches of 30-plus digs in five contests on the week, with a career-high 37 against Texas A&M International. The redshirt freshman racked up 146 digs for an average of 7.68 per set while also contributing 17 assists and five service aces. Nine matches into the season, the Frenship High School product has registered 230 digs, 25 assists and seven aces for the Lady Chaps.

Lady Chaps narrowly avoid two-game sweep
KINGSVILLE, Texas (September 12, 2015) – A few points separated Lubbock Christian University from their first defeat by a double sweep in a single day in a 3-1 match loss (23-25, 17-25, 25-21, 20-25) to Bentley during their second match of the day at the Emerald Beach Hotel-Javelina Volleyball Tournament that precluded a 3-0 setback (20-25, 21-25, 20-25) to Texas A&M-Kingsville in the Gil H. Steinke Physical Education Center on the Kingsville Hampton Inn Court. The Lady Chaparrals had not been swept 3-0 in a single day since the 2007 season where the squad was defeated in straight sets by Savannah College A&D and Hastings College. The last time LCU had lost consecutive 3-0 matches on back-to-back days occurred during the 2013 season. Similar to the Lady Chaps' first game a day prior, the team struggled offensively against TAMUK, producing a season-low 35 kills on a .059 attack percentage, their lowest output in 2015. Ariel Froeschl was the only Lady Chap to record double digits in kills with 10. Mallory Powell notched another double-double with 27 assists and 11 digs. Against Bentley (4-4, 0-0 Northeast-10) the Lady Chaps hung close in set one but were never able to clinch the lead. All-tournament selection Johnson tallied 13 kills, and Powell handed out a game-high 45 assists along with 21 digs.
