Lady Chaps Close Out Six-Match Roadtrip Saturday in Laredo

Game Marks Final Road Game During Regular Season For LCU

LAREDO, Texas (October 29, 2016) – Lubbock Christian University (14-10, 7-3) travels to Laredo Saturday for a Heartland Conference tilt with Texas A&M International. This will be Lubbock Christian's final road game of the season. LCU is looking to keep their success rolling, as they are coming off of a 3-0 win over St. Mary's University Friday night. LCU jumped up to second place tie in Heartland standings with the win. The Lady Chaps are a perfect 10-0 against the Dustdevils all-time. Five of those victories have come in 3-0 sweeps for LCU.

- Both of the Dustdevil's victories on the season have come in Heartland Conference play and both against Oklahoma Panhandle State.
- Texas A&M International ranks second in the conference in aces per set with 1.52.
- TAMIU was picked to finish fifth in Heartland Conference preseason polls. The Dustdevils hold a 2-18 overall record and a 2-8 record in Heartland play.
- Texas A&M International's win Thursday at home over Oklahoma Panhandle State ended a seven-game home losing streak.
- TAMIU's Alexis Villa has captured two triple-double's this season, which ranks her at seventh in the nation in that category.
- Sophomore Ramey Gardner leads the Dustdevils with 177 kills on the season and averages 2.81 kills per set.
 
GAME NOTES
- This will be the sixth game of their current road trip and final road game of the season for the Lady Chaps.
-  Lubbock Christian last played TAMIU on Oct. 1 in the Rip Griffin Center and made quick work in 3-0 fashion.
Kelsie French has played 91 sets and has tallied 511 digs on the year, which ranks her at 12th in the nation in total digs. French is also ranked 21st nationally with 5.62 digs per set.
-  Emily Hanaway has grabbed 25 aces on the year. The sophomore ranks second in the conference with 3.91 points per set, 916 total attacks, and 296 total kills.
-  Ariel Froeschl leads the Lady Chaps at the net with 75 total blocks. Froeschl averages .85 blocks per set in her 2016 campaign.
Mallory Powell has continued to bulk up the LCU offense. Powell now leads the Heartland with 9.61 assists per set and 769 total assists.
- LCU has won three of their last four matches. The Lady Chaps have held their opponents to a .134 hitting percentage, which ranks 23rd in the country.
