LCU Begins Second Run Through Conference Foes, Facing OC Saturday

LADY CHAPS FLIGHT DECK
•  The Lubbock Christian University Lady Chaparrals continue a four-game road trip Saturday with their second stop on the road trip. The game marks the start of LCU's second rotation facing conference foes.
•  LCU enters the game 6-2-1 overall and this game marks their second non-conference road game of the season. Their first was their 2-0 season opening win at Texas Permian Basin.  LCU enters the game 6-2-2 overall and 4-2-1 in conference play. LCU sits in third place of the conference standings with 13 standing points.
•  LCU, who went 1-6-1 on the road last season (four road goals), is 1-2-1 on the road this season. LCU is 17-21-2 all-time on the road under head coach Alex Denning. Overall all-time, LCU is 27-31-4 on the road.
 
STORY LINES
•   The Lady Chaps are 21-8-1 all-time in Heartland Conference games, 8-6-0 all-time in Heartland Conference road games.
•   Tuesday witnessed LCU's debut of goalkeeper Leah Beikmann. as Sarah Palmer, who had been in goal for every second of the season, ended up leaving the game with just under a minute remaining in the first overtime against Texas Woman's. Beikmann did not face any shots over the 10:59 of playing time.
•   Haley Knesek leads LCU's offense with 15 points off five goals and five assists. Her 15 points ranks second in the conference.
•   The Lady Chaps have 24 assists as a team this season, which ranks ninth in the nation in total assists. They average 2.4 per game, which ranks 10th nationally. Knesek leads the Heartland Conference and ranks tied for 28th nationally with five assists.  
•   Palmer leads the Heartland Conference and ranks 25th nationally in GAA, with a 0.58 GAA.
•   In LCU's 1-1 draw Tuesday, TWU's lone goal ended LCU's shutout sequence at 314:47 without allowing a goal. The LCU program record for a shutout sequence is 378:56 (2010) and the program's goalkeeper shutout sequence record is 351:51 by Kayla Wilkinson (Palmer had her shutout sequence end at 314:47).
 
SCOUTING OC
•   The Lady Eagles are coming off a 5-9-2 season, going 2-5-1 in Heartland Conference play. This season, OC is 4-6-1 overall and 2-4-1 in conference. They are coming in off a scoreless double overtime draw against Newman and are unbeaten in their last three games (2-0-1).
•   OC, off to a 3-3-1 home record this season, went 3-5-0 last season at home. The Eagles are closing out a six-game homestand and are 3-1-1 during the homestand.
•   The Heartland preseason poll has OC picked to finish sixth in the conference. They are currently in sixth place with seven standing points.
•   OC goalkeeper Corina Schanz ranks second in the conference and 39th nationally in minutes played with 948:26. She also ranks 31st nationally in saves (63).
•   The Eagles have been outscored 21-12 this season, with opponents having a 13-5 scoring advantage over OC following half time.
 
SERIES HISTORY WITH OC
•   This meeting marks the seventh between the two programs, with the prior seven won by LCU.
•   This meeting marks their second tilt of the season. LCU defeated OC 4-0 in Lubbock on Sept.8.
•   The Lady Chaps are 2-0-0 in the series in games played at OC.
