FORT SMITH, Ark. (November 18, 2016) – Lubbock Christian University (18-10, 11-3) travels to Fort Smith, Ark. Friday for the 2016 Heartland Conference Tournament. The Lady Chaps head into the tournament as a No. 2-seed and will take on No. 3-seeded St. Edward's University. LCU finished the regular season having won their last five contests in straight-set fashion. The match is the third meeting of the season between Lubbock Christian and St. Edward's with the series being split between the squads (home team won each meeting).

- St. Edward's finished off their regular season with a 9-5 record in Heartland play. The Hilltoppers lost two of their last three matches, one of which was against Lubbock Christian (Nov.5 3-0 win by LCU in Lubbock).
- St. Edwards played eight matches in a neutral site this season. Of those eight contests, the Hilltoppers were only able to pick up one win for a 1-7 neutral site record.
- SEU's attack has been aggressive at the net as they rank second in the country with 40.63 team attacks per set.
- Morgan Beckham ranks second in the Heartland and sixth in the nation with 6.41 digs per set. As a squad he Hilltoppers are listed at 12
th in the country with 19.01 digs per set. She claimed Heartland Conference Libero of the Year honors.
- Mikayla Parker leads the Heartland by averaging 1.10 blocks per set while amassing 108 total blocks on the season. As a team, the Hilltoppers have posted 202.5 blocks on the season.
GAME NOTES
- The Lady Chaps finished the Heartland season with an 11-3 record. This was their best conference showing since the 2014 season.
- LCU is riding a five-game winning streak that dates back to Oct. 28, when the Lady Chaps defeated St. Mary's in straight sets. Since that match, Lubbock Christian has won every match in 3-0 fashion (15 consecutive set victories).

th nationally in the category. Further, French ranks 15
th in the country with a 5.83 digs per set average.

Emily Hanaway is third in the Heartland with 331 kills in 101 sets played. Hanaway has collected nine double-doubles and leads the Lady Chaps with 30 service aces in the 2016 season. Emily ranks second in the conference in points per set (3.90) and total attacks (1,014). She is the only conference player with at least 300 kills and 30 aces.

Mallory Powell was named the Heartland Conference Setter of the Year. She is the first Lady Chap to receive the award since Erin Fisher claimed the honor in 2014, as LCU was amidst their transition to NCAA Div. II. The junior from Aledo, Texas leads the Heartland by averaging 9.84 assists per set. She has dished out 895 total assists in Lubbock Christian's 28 games this season while posting 14 double-doubles. Powell also ranks second on the Lady Chaps squad with 275 digs.
- The Lady Chaps lead the Heartland Conference in opponent hitting percentage (.127) and total service aces (156).
