No. 10 Lubbock Christian University and No.9 Angelo State University play the middle game of their non-conference three-game series Saturday at Hays Field.  The series opened Friday, with LCU winning 7-6. The Chaps rallied back from a 6-3 deficit with a four-run bottom of the eighth inning to move to 8-0 on the season, while ASU fell to 5-2.

GAUCHER
LCU will go with Guillaume Blanchette on the mound. The Canadian left-hander is 1-0 this season with a 1.38 ERA. His last outing was last Friday against New Mexico Highlands and he went a seven-inning complete game with an unearned run allowed off three hits and struck out five batters. The complete game was the first of his LCU career. He is 0-1 in his career against ASU, allowing three runs off five hits in seven innings of a 4-1 loss (2/14/15 in San Angelo, Texas) last season.

FLIP A COIN
The Rams did not indicate who their Saturday starting pitcher would be. Graylon Brown (1-1, 0.79 ERA) was their middle-game starter in their opening series against Texas A&M International (nine inning game) and they went with Matt Shannon (1-1, 3.75 ERA) in their middle game at Southeastern Oklahoma last weekend (seven inning game). Joey Wise (1-0, 5.63 ERA) also has a pair of starts on the season.

Here are some additional series notables:

- LCU had not allowed a stolen base all season until Angelo State swiped a pair on Friday. Opponents are now 2-for-5 in stolen base attempts against the Chaps.
- Hunter McFall leads LCU in the series with three hits (3-for-5).
- Brent Stewart has three runs-batted-in against Angelo State this season and has one of two extra-base hits as well.
- Sam Kohler leads ASU in the series with three hits (3-for-4).
- ASU was 1-for-11 at the plate with two-out situations Friday.
- LCU produced five two-out-runs-batted-in Friday and have a 28-5 advantage over opponents this season in runs-batted-in with two outs (Hunter McFall has eight RBI this season with two outs).
- ASU hit into 15 ground-outs Friday.
- Teams combined for 19 runners stranded (10 by ASU) on Friday to open the series.
- Angelo State leads the all-time series 8-7, but LCU is 4-2 in Lubbock against the Rams and have won the last three games played in Lubbock in the series.
