Arkansas-Fort Smith had a two-game lead atop the Heartland Conference standings to enter the series, but Lubbock Christian University won Thursday's two games to push three teams into a first place tie. UAFS, LCU and St. Edward's are all 6-2 in conference play entering Friday. LCU aims to complete the three game series sweep Friday, as the two programs are set for a nine inning contest at Hays Field.
  
THURSDAY TURNBACK
No.10 Lubbock Christian University opened their three-game series with Arkansas – Fort Smith with consecutive 5-4 walk-off victories to sweep a Heartland Conference doubleheader Thursday at Hays Field.
 
STREAKS
JP Rousseau and Hunter McFall enter Friday's game on an 10-game hit streak and Jaime Bustamante has reached base safely in 15 consecutive games, which is the longest streak of the season.
 
GETTING BEZIO
Brent Bezio (4-0) is the expected starting pitcher for LCU. He is coming off a Mar. 19 win in a start over St. Mary's. He went six innings and allowed four runs off 10 hits. The start was during the game in which LCU turned a program single season record five double plays. Bezio has made eight appearances this season and four have been starts. 
 
LIONS DEN
Nolan McCutcheon is scheduled for his fifth appearance and fourth start on the mound for UAFS. McCutcheon is 0-0 with a 7.36 ERA. He has pitched 11 innings and has allowed 11 runs off 16 hits with 12 strikeouts.
 
SERIES NOTABLES
- LCU's JP Rousseau is 5-for-8 with three RBI in the series.
- Trever Crone is 4-for-7 for UAFS in the series.
- UAFS has been able to hold LCU 1-for-5 in the series in bases loaded situations.
