Brandon Rix had a four-hit night and Hunter McFall drove in a trio of runs as No.9 Lubbock Christian University opened a two-game home-and-home series against Texas-Permian Basin with a 10-2 victory Thursday night at Hays Field.
 
MAN ON A MISSION
Guillaume Blanchette gets the start on the road today for LCU. He steps into the game after three consecutive complete game performances. Blanchette is 3-0 on the season in four starts and has pitched 26.1 consecutive innings without allowing an earned run. The lefty also has a 0.55 WHIP and opponents are batting .134 against him.
 
FOR THE FALCONS
Chris Cano is expected to take the bump for UTPB. Cano (2-1, 2.70 ERA) is coming off a win over New Mexico Highlands (5-1) allowing one run off four hits in seven innings. He has gone at least six innings in all four starts this season and he did not give up n extra-base hit in two of the four starts.
