FINAL TUESDAY GAME
No.7 Lubbock Christian University plays the fourth of four consecutive Tuesday night games, with their final scheduled meeting with Wayland Baptist University. It closes out a three-game season series, with the only scheduled meeting of the teams at Hays Field. The Chaps have won 11 of their last 14 games. LCU is 15-7 in non-conference play. WBU, who has beat the Chaps in the prior two meetings this season, is 37-14 overall on the season and has won five of their last seven games. The Pioneers are 24-6 in non-conference play. LCU is 3-4 in Tuesday contests this season.
 
LOOKING BACK AT THE ROGERS STATE
LCU is coming off a three-game series in which they took two of three games on the road at Rogers State University. Chaps starting pitchers combined for 22 strikeouts and no walks in the series. The one loss they did suffer at Rogers State did knock them out of first place in the Heartland Conference standings. The Chaps are currently a game out of first place with a 16-5 conference mark.
 
STREAKS
Hunter McFall has successfully reached base in 29 consecutive games and 26 consecutive non-conference games... McFall has a 21-game hit streak at home… Brandon Rix has reached base safely in 19 consecutive non-conference games… Jaime Bustamante has a 10-game hit streak in non-conference games…Jesse Pintado has a three-game overall hit streak, which is the active leading hit streak on the squad…
 
CHRISTIAN ON THE MOUND
LCU will start Christian Buatte on the mound for his second start of the season. The junior right hander has a 2.19 ERA in seven appearances (six in relief). Last Tuesday, he made his starting debut (vs. Eastern New Mexico) and allowed one earned run off eight hits in seven innings to garner his first win as a Chap. At home, he has a 2.45 ERA in five appearances. 
 
ON THEIR HILL
The Pioneers are expected to start Jonathan Frost on the hill. The Alpine, Texas native has made five starts this season and overall is 3-1 with a 3.61 ERA. He has made 16 appearances, including an outing against LCU on Mar. 22 in which he allowed five runs off six hits in three innings. He has made five appearances since that outing and all have been less than three innings.  
 
NO HEART-LAND
Brandon Rix leads LCU in non-conference play, hitting .494 in games outside Heartland Conference play (.540 on base percentage). He was 5-for-5 last Tuesday in non-conference play against ENMU to match a program single-game record for hits. Hunter McFall has 29 RBI in 22 non-conference games and has an on-base percentage of .505. LCU is hitting .339 in non-conference play and has a 4.32 staff ERA. Ricky Contreras has made 10 non-conference appearances and has a 1.37 ERA, holding opponents to a .222 batting average. Reliever Glen Warrick has held opponents to a .195 batting average in nine non-conference appearances.
 
HOME TRENDS
LCU is hitting .364 as a team at home and has outscored opponents 229-107 this season at Hays Field, where LCU is 22-4. The Chaps also have an advantage of 89-41 in extra-base hits at home. Hunter McFall is hitting .465 in home games this season and has 33 RBI. His on-base percentage at home is .530. LCU has a 3.76 ERA at home. Ricky Contreras leads LCU with a 1.32 ERA at home. Collin Fraley has allowed two earned runs in seven relief appearances (1.54 ERA at home) and Glen Warrick has a 1.69 ERA in nine outings at Hays Field.
