LADY CHAPS FLIGHT DECK
• The Lubbock Christian University Lady Chaparrals kickoff their seventh season in program history Thursday at 7 p.m., as they head to Odessa to face University of Texas of the Permian Basin at UTPB Soccer Field.
• Following the game, they return home Saturday to close out their opening weekend by hosting Fort Lewis College at 3 p.m. Saturday.
• The Lady Chaps are coming off an 8-7-3 season last year, which included a third place finish in the Heartland Conference standings. This season marks the fifth season under the coaching guidance of

STORY LINES
• The Lady Chaparrals are 5-0-1 all-time in season, and all have been against Southwest (N.M.). This game marks their first season opener against a different opponent and their first season opener on the road.
• LCU went 1-6-1 on the road last season. They closed out the season with losses in their last four road games (one goal in the span). The Lady Chaps offense struggled with four road goals last season and they came from four different individuals. LCU is 16-19-1 all-time on the road under head coach
Alex Denning. Overall all-time, LCU is 26-29-3 on the road. They are winless in their last five non-conference road games (0-4-1).
• This season mark's LCU's fourth season as members of the Heartland Conference and second season with conference and NCAA postseason eligibility. Last season, LCU qualified for the Heartland Conference Tournament for the first time in program history.
• The Lady Chaps have nine new additions on their roster this season.

• Eight starters from last season's 8-7-3 squad (starters based on the final game) return, including 2015 All-Conference selections

• LCU begins their first season since the graduation of LCU's all-time career leading scorer
Brooke Wendl, but they return their next top-five leading scorers from last season. O'Gara and Ledford each had 12 points last season (each had four goals and four assists) behind Wendl's 25 points (10 goals and five assists).
SCOUTING UTPB
• The Falcons are coming off a 4-11-1 season, going 4-4-0 in Heartland Conference play. It was their final season in the conference, as the women's program is currently in their inaugural season as Lone Star Conference members.
• UTPB went 3-3-0 last season at home, winning their final two home games of the season.
• Texas-Permian Basin is in their first season in the Lone Star Conference (men's program are affiliate members of the Heartland Conference). They were preseason picked seventh (last) in the conference preseason poll, but they did receive a first place vote.
• Erica Ancich is the Falcons highest scorer returning for this season. She produced eight points off three goals and two assists.
• UTPB has lost 10 consecutive non-conference games and has lost 11 straight non-conference home games. Their last non-conference home win was Sept. 4, 2011 against Eastern New Mexico.
SERIES HISTORY WITH UTPB
• LCU leads the all-time series 3-2-1.
• Last season, LCU went 0-1-1 against the Falcons. The last meeting was on Oct. 31, 2015 in Odessa, where LCU fell 2-1.
• LCU is 1-1-1 all-time in non-conference meetings vs. UTPB.
